In the middle of World War II, in turbulent 1942, the fearless Wing Commander, Max Vatan, lands on the desert dunes of Morocco to meet with the skilful Parisian member of the French Resistance, Marianne Beauséjour. After a suicide mission in the heart of Casablanca, Max and Marianne will flee to England with plans on making a family; however, heavy clouds of distrust and suspicion will burden their relationship, when Max receives a shocking call from the Secret Service Division. In disbelief, with a terrible task in his hands and crushed under a devastating dilemma, Max must find the courage to seek for answers in the perilous streets of a bombarded London, regardless of the outcome. In the end, amid duty and love, who shall live and who shall die?
In 1942, a Canadian intelligence officer in North Africa encounters a female French Resistance fighter on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. When they reunite in London, their relationship is tested by the pressures of war.
I'm difficult person to like any movies, but this movie was exactly perfect and unbelievable that i have ever seen. It must be world top 10 best film ever. Bradd pitt makes most of time good movies but this movies something perfect. The best movie ever seen about love and war. You don't get any boring time if you watch the movie.
I like much of the work of Brad Pitt, but some of I didn't, Inglourious Basterds and the one he made with his wife come to mind.

This movie Allied, was a huge hit for me though.

It was very realistic, the sets were fantastic with incredibly accurate period detail.

I know there were special effects but they were so seamlessly included, it was hard to pick them out.

Zemeckis is good at telling us of loves lost, he did it in Cast Away and also an excellent job of it with Allied.

If I was to make one criticism it would have to be the manner in which he attempted to draw tears by using very similar music in Allied to another tearjerker, especially towards the end with the scenes in the rain, I could have sworn we had been transported to an island somewhere.

To be honest though, even though I could hear the similarity, I didn't really mind, I really liked how this movie carried me through it.

A terrific piece of work by all involved. Director Robert Zemeckis is usually known for his zestiness and zippiness; but this is arduous. Screenwriter Steven Knight scripted smart movies such as Locke, Dirty Pretty Things and Eastern Promises, and there are some nice touches, but it resembles an unconvincing and sluggish pastiche of a war movie.
