Brilliant game. Even after years it's by far my favourite.. The game is memorial for those who wanted to relive the game. Other than that, it's hyped in comparison to today's compatible RPG games (e.g. Pillars of Eternity, etc.) If you are new to Baldur's Gate (Enhanced Edition), it may be best to save the $20 (2019) to purchase another game. The game design is poor right off the start. Designers made an assumption players must save their characters, that they have just spent hours to create, BEFORE playing the tutorial. The tutorial will wipe the party and replace them with NPCs. There's a way to import the main character but that requires walking through the tutorial. In addition, the game interface is not intuitive, especially for those who are new to Baldor's Gate\/RPG. The graphics is also blurry and needs serious clarity. I was rather disappointed to see an "Enhanced Edition" not to be so enhanced. They should have fixed these problems for the enhanced version. In light of the enhanced version's pitfalls, contemporary games have learned and made much improvements in design, story-telling and fun based on legacy games such as the original Baldur's Gate.. I bought this game years ago in the sales and I just didn't get it;It's got a steep learning curve, old gfx, a clunky ui and I just wasn't ready for it.

I recently played PoE1 including all of its dlc. I loved that and it was in that playthrough that I realised what this game was all about. I did a little research on the game systems and the history of its development and how important it is in the history of CRPGs and now I'm in love with it.

We're going to get married in the Autumn and you're invited.. At 8 hours, I'm still not sure that I've even scratched the surface of this game. Really enjoying it so far- it's a little more old-school than I usually play, but that's definitely not a negative point. I'm interested to see how my experience progresses.. What a trip down memory lane! I've wanted to be able to play this game again and now I can. It shows its age even with the graphical enhancements but it's still a great D&D based game. Glad to be able to replay this old classic that I put many hours into back in the day.. lots of fun - old school Advanced Dungeons and Dragons fun ! has held up really well over the years.. An enhanced version of a true classic RPG. Recommended!. Excellent update to a great game, would have been nice to see a bit more expanded content, filling in some blank areas on the map and adding a few new quests. The graphics and gameplay improvements are well needed, the only complaint is that the "paper" .wav should have been silent or have a toggle instead of needing to mod a sound file. All in all a great update for a timeless game, still one of my all time favorites.. i LoVeD this game as a kid, its one of the best role playing experiences ive heard 2 is even better but i havent got around to playing it yet but will soon, this is a great game for a real D and D experience.
