One of the volunteers, Pierre Loire, is a 65-year-old retiree who worked a lifetime for SNCF (the French rail company). This allows you to travel by train for free today. And Loire puts his prebend at the service of the association. He travels free of charge to anywhere in the country to collect a donated car. To date he has done it more than 400 times.

The vehicle is collected at no cost by one of the association's volunteers like Loire. It will then be taken to an associated car dealership donation request workshop, where it will be cleaned, a first revision will be done and finally the corresponding technical inspection will be passed. The average cost of commissioning is about 1,250 euros. The beneficiaries contribute in part to the cost according to their case and their financial means. In total the price will never exceed 3,000 euros. Since 2005 more than 7,000 cars have been delivered to people in need of improving their mobility. Donors for their part can obtain tax benefits thanks to the donation of a vehicle to the association.

It is one thing to share a car that has all the environmental and social sense, but putting old cars back into circulation does not seem the most sustainable. We need a society with many fewer cars!
