Child Development Assessment, its need and how to observe

Child development assessment is beneficial to assess a child’s existing skills relative to typical child development. A program assessment that has age equals offers more precise evidence, making it further possible for recognizing treatment marks. Though, consistent developmental assessments, have the benefits of being uniform and quicker to implement because they are less inclusive.

It intends to highlight what standard developmental parameters are, when and how to judge a child’s growth, and when to consult a specialist assessment. Development is a process by which every child grows from dependent infancy to independent maturity.

Five Stages in the Development of Child

 The first month, newborns show automatic responses to external stimuli, A newborn can see close objects, identify certain scents, smile or cry to specify a need, and move their head from side to side
 Infants develop new abilities rapidly in the first year of life, in three to six months, an infant can control his head actions and carry his hands together. By six to nine months, an infant can sit down without support, murmur, and respond to his name. Between nine and twelve months, a baby can carry objects, crawl and even stand with support.
 Toddler, As kid reaches the age between one and three years, toddlers learn to walk without help, hike stairs and jump in place
 Preschool, By the age of three and five years, children improve their motor skills. They can toss a ball overhand, skip and jump, stand on one foot, dress,
 School-age, In school-age kids, are six to 12 years old. They are proficient, self-confident, self-governing and responsible.

American Academy of Pediatrics mentions developmental and behavioral transmission for all children during regular child appointments in these ages, from 9 months then18 months and then 24/30 months.

Evolving Red Flags from 24 to 36 months
 Regular falling and struggle with stairs.
 Insistent slavering or very blurred speech.
 Incapability to figure a tower of more than four blocks.
 Trouble operating small objects.
 Failure to copy a circle by three years old.
 Incapability to communicate in short sayings.
There are three kinds of assessment:
 Diagnostic
 Formative
 Summative.

Though these three are commonly denoted simply as assessment, there are diverse differences between all three

A Child developmental assessment under age three is attempted to evaluate various aspects of the child's working, with areas such as cognition, behavior, communication, social interaction, motor and sensory abilities, and adaptive skills.
