Deck Hunter is a roguelike card game. The World of Klanojh has been cursed by Glatta, the Goddess of Anger. Build your deck, make combos, defeat fantasy creatures and help Avery to face the evil and restore the balance!

Help Avery to face her destiny and fight against the forces of evil in an eternal battle for balance. Be the first of the hunters to find the armor to defeat Glatta. Cute but Savage

The World of Klanojh consists of different areas where each one has its own flora and wildlife. Aesthetically, every area represents the essence of their creatures, monsters and dangers and the clan that rules the area. The World of Klanojh combines the tradition of the clans in a large land to explore for the Hunters, but not all of them are ready to do it. Get lost in the Forest or the Mountains to defeat new creatures while using your cards wisely. Deck Hunter presents an accurate fantasy cartoon style to bring the players to the World of Klanojh. Don’t doze off because of this “cute” visual style or you’ll bite the dust.

From what I've seen having played the game for 26 minutes, this game is very much like Slay The Spire.

It has a 3D overworld instead of a map layout.

No fun tiles like the ? you find in Slay the spire, just tiles with monsters or bonfires where you heal or get rid of unwanted cards or gain a new card or possibly gain\/loose max health depending on weither you\u00b4re lucky or not.

You have to pick a card once the battle is over.
You can't skip it like in Slay the spire.

The "2x discard pile" move the enemies sometimes use left me confused at first when playing, but it literally multiplies damage against your discard pile.
Which since you have to pick a card after every fight leaves you with a giant deck.

I can't tell if it wants to be it's own thing or if it wants to be 3D Slay the spire.

The game looks nice though, very cute character models and it's bright and vibrant.

Not a bad game but not one I can easily recommend.

But I can't really say no to it either. It has promise.

I like the combo-system. When you use certain cards in sequence it counts as a combo.
2 defense cards grants you 3 extra defense. 2 attack cards deal 4 additional damage.

I also find the alchemy system to be promising. You can combine 2 cards inorder to make a new one using them.

The fact that your cards level up and get stronger after having been used a certain number of times is a feature I wish could be found in Slay the spire.
It makes even generic cards you have several of gain more usefulness. I find myself favoring a handfull and just leveling them when possible.

I find it annoying that I can't choose to not expand my deck, though that would be overpowered...

If you're tired of slay the spire but still enjoy the gameplay I recommend trying this game, just don't expect it to be as amazing as slay the spire, it has a long way to go to be that good.. Gonna admit, this game has lot of potential, but as it is, its more frustrating than fun.
Mobs hit way too much, if there are 2-3 mobs attacking you at once and you dont get 3 def cards you are screwed.
Some mobs shield buff is way too big, you can barely break it with 3 attack cards.
Upgraded cards discarding is incredibly frustrating,most of the time i got the card i needed for combo discarded.

Now, i get that 'you must get good' and 'learn from mistakes' and 'improve' , but getting hit for 30 or more in the first map isn't fair, not when you can get 21 max shield (if you are lucky enough to get 3 def cards, or you can get full hand of attack cards and you're screwed)

I don't recommend anyone to buy the game now, maybe later when its balanced.
I deleted it, will return in a month or so. Cheers. It is pretty close to Slay the Spire, just with a 3D enviroment.
You have to pick a card after each fight, so you soon have a huge deck with multiple cards of the same kind.
There is a card that should reduce the damage of the enemy attack to 1, but it only works for standard attacks, especially the attacks like "deals damage x2 the discarded cards" or similar attacks (skull symbol), which do pretty huge dmg sometimes, can't be reduced... Maybe a bug, maybe not.
Descriptions of the attacks \/ cards sometimes a bit confusing, but you get used to it.
You can only chose from 720p or 1080p, no different options.
Idk. I might wait a lil bit to get this game again. Gonna refund for now, since for me it is just a slay the spire clone.
Still pick the thumbsup, since there is no middle option and maybe there are some who havent played slay the spire and might like this game.. It's an interesting idea. The graphics are cute and fun. After you unlock a few cards there ends up being some good variety. The hidden combo system is an interesting innovation and pretty fun.

However, the upgrade system needs an overhaul. It encourages you to stall every single fight, which leads to a huge boring grind early as you stall and stall to focus on leveling up your cards. Hitting into shields to upgrade your attacks, overdefending to level up your defense cards. Stalling to level up your FORGET cards. It's super flawed, but you *need* to upgrade your cards to proceed far.

I'm assuming this will get tweaked during EA. Other than that, I've been enjoying this guy so far. Solid game.

(UPDATE: Beat the current content in about 4 hours on my second try. Review stands. I'm a bit more positive on the upgrade system now, but it does need a rework. The balancing tends to be that enemies eventually get "Ultimates" which force the fight to end one way or another. One minor complaint is that some of the upgraded cards are worse than the cards before them, but that's just learning all of the cards in the game. This is going in the right direction and I'm glad I purchased it. Deckbuilders! The armor\/weapon system looks.. okay, I guess? The example armor\/weapons aren't very interesting and it's a grind to make a single item.. not sure it's worth the feature so far.). I purchased this game as soon as it became available, its a great single player card game, you choose what path to take and kill as you go gaining extra cards etc. It did have a few major game breaking bugs - losing resources when you die or when you logged out, and at times mobs would just freeze and you would have to restart the game losing everything. But in the 48 hours it has been out the Dev has fixed these problems, and as single person making this game that is some nice response from the Dev. Remember its still an Early Access game.

The other it had was the amount of resources needed to make an item compared to what you actually got from killing the bosses. 1 item is 700 wood and some metal, now I was getting 5 wood for killing an end of level boss, that would mean I would have have to play 140 games just to make 1 item, but the latest update should of fixed that problem.

All in all, its a great game if you like card games, the animations are good, the art style is pleasing.
And the price is about right for where it is right now in Early Access.. Needs some updates, especially the card upgrade mechanic is something I don't enjoy, makes the game very grindy and wants you to stall the battles, but it has potential to be good. Still enjoyed it.. I was very conflicted on the recommending this game or not option. I have had this on my wishlist for months now because it is similar to slay the spire. The issue is the game is so slow and you need to grind out levels and possibly card levels each run. At the start it feels a bit to grindy, which could be negated by an animation speed option like slay the spire.

However, this is day 1 of early access so I suppose I should be a bit more forgiving.
The graphics are amazing.
Combo system is unique and makes you think rather than spam out cards.
I like the progression system.
The gear looks like it could be interesting, but it is not clear how to unlock it. I assume beating the boss at end gives rewards but it is pretty hard to do early on so I am not sure. My concern is that if it is the case, the forest may become trivial, so hopefully other zones are implemented and difficult. It could be interesting to have gear be obtainable through spinning wheel and some sets to do a positive and a negative effect. Like +2 damage -5 healing.

Anyway, hopefully the game can be polished up a bit and it will be a hit.. Have to say that I\u00b4m not the card games guy, but Deck Hunter seemed to me a funny and appealing graphics game, and it don t deceive my expectations.
From the graphics side, I think it has an interesting point of view for a card game, an appealing character, nice environment, very interesting enemies and great effects.
From the game and mechanics it\u00b4s engaging because you have to learn how to get the most of your deck, you can do a bunch of different combos when you\u00b4re fighting the enemies, besides you\u00b4ve to be aware \u201cwho\u201d is and what is going to do the enemies you \u00b4ve to face, by the way there\u00b4s a great variety of them for an early access.
Another great feature is the forge, you can improve your skills and get some assets mixing the alchemy cards.
It\u00b4s a game that you can spend a lot of time on it, and you can play for hours or for a quick game (but this is not easy to play just for a while)

Definitely I strongly recommend this game, you\u00b4ll have a lot of game hours to improve your skills and get all the assets for your character customization.
I\u00b4ll be looking forward to get the final release.

Any variation in the two paths
The ability to decline picking a card after a fight
The concept of a 0 card cost upgrade still being 0 cost
Merchant squares
Mini-Elite Squares

Overall:
The concept is great, the implementation of that concept is awful. Just pass on this mess especially while it's in early access.
