Flipped class room teaching- a reverse strategy

Introduction
Education has gradually shifted its dimension from teacher centered to approach the student centered one. Globally, the education is moving into a revolutionary circle of including many teaching methodologies that enable students to learn on their own with a little support from the classroom. As the trends in educational are subjected to gradual evolution towards smart classrooms, students are eager to go with new teaching learning. Some of the modern teaching methodologies include e-learning, m-learning, creative teaching, simulation, project method, design thinking, artificial intelligence based learning models, flipped class room models, and engagement methods are among many others. Let us understand some concepts related to flipped classroom method.

What is flipped class room teaching method?
A flipped classroom teaching is simply the flipping or changing the teaching methodology from teacher centered to student oriented mode. A flipped class room is the careful process of making students more active while the instructors remain to be the facilitators. The whole idea of flipping is to develop autonomy and sense of responsibility alongside preparing the kids for tomorrow rather than for the present. The central idea is to move the after school activities into classroom in the presence of everyone. So called traditional home works, exercises and parental responsibilities are all brought together into the classroom setup and the entire day is evenly divided into various activities including discussion, chalk-board teaching, illustrative lessons, and other blended learning approaches. It is more effective when the flip class method is used with seminars, demonstrations, e-learning and some real world learning methods.

Advantages of flipped classroom method
1. It encourages student participation
The core focus of flipped learning is to discourage passive learning through a traditional style of instruction in which individual lessons are being taught with the help of lecture style. In such a scenario there is least importance for the student participation with a limited student based activities. Conventional class discussions are typically aligned on the abilities, skills, attitude and the interest of the teacher rather than students. Flipping encourages responsibility and self-dependence which can make children feel-like miniature lectures teacher.

2. It improves depth and involvement
The flipped classroom deliberately moves instruction to a learner-centered model from the teacher-focused one. The whole day is evenly divided to ensure every topic is being thoroughly discussed and the classroom is used to explore topics in a greater depth so that this can enable the learners to participate in a meaningful way. In a typical flipped classroom model, students can use a variety of content delivery methods in which they feel comfortable . This will allow the teacher to understand the strengths and weaknesses of student while he or she is going into the depth of the topic. Class room activities vary from in-depth laboratory experiments, original document analysis, debate or speech presentation, event discussions, peer reviewing, project-based learning, and skill development and concept practices. This means more time can be spent in class on problem-finding, problem-solving, collaboration and many other advanced approaches.

3. It takes the burden for parents
As the term flip-class suggest, the home based activities including home works are slowly moved into the classroom. The day is distributed in such a way that, after the classroom session, the home works to be finished immediately instead of taking them home and finish them in the presence of parents.

4. It is very effective for slow learners
Since the accessibility of Flipped Classroom is extremely liberal and highly convenient, slow learners gain an opportunity to closely interact with the teacher and other students. This can boost the confidence while allowing a lot of time to carefully understand the topic. Another important advantage is that , until a topic is completely understood, a new topic is kept on a hold ; this will help in ensuring everyone are clear about what they are doing, especially for students that use to face difficulties.
4. Communication can be greatly improved
Since it directly involves everyone, it is a great opportunity to emphasize the oral and personality developmental .Student-student interaction is always better than student-teacher interaction when the communication matters the most.

5. Enough repetition of the topics
It is a great platform to ascertain that every topic is deeply dealt through a mix of theory and practice based teaching strategies. As the students are the central figures they feel more responsible which helps them to clarify things then and there. In a traditional classroom setup, some students are afraid to ask doubts with the teachers but in flipped classroom model a student can exchange the information from other students with no fear.
