For me personally using skills was simpler and much faster. I can reach 1-4 - perhaps 5 when I stretch - onto a computer keyboard. Does not really surprise me because FFXI was originally launched on PSO2 Meseta console then PC (in Japan), it was obviously built around the controller because the keyboard controls were horrible, so I imagine despite the fact XIV release on PC first, they probably kept console controllers in mind first while actually making the PC controls not terrible.

I understand the majority of gamers I met played PC and will really only pull from my experience. In addition, I know that the PS4 has a user base than Xbox One in regards to people who wish to play with JRPGs. Which hurts the launch popularity and population of Phantasy Star Online 2. Being an MMO population is really vital to the success of it. Timed-exclusives are often done for the interest of console sales, however, I don't imagine Phantasy Star Online 2 is going to be pushing console sales for a couple reasons, the majority of people that are interested in Phantasy Star Online 2 likely already have a PC to play it on once timed exclusive period is finished, and the console is currently at end of existence.

It will have play involving Xbox and PC so it doesn't matter whether the player base skews to people playing PC, they will still be lots of players at the pool. It's hilarious that Xbox players have been begging for years to find some JRPGs such as PS4 has and they eventually land a pretty popular one exclusively and PS4 players are mad they don't get this 1 game following years of feasting on exclusivity for every JRPG released.I've not seen these insane PS4 players you are speaking about. I'm arguing from the point of view of a PC player that is worried about Phantasy Star Online 2 launch performance, since it is not starting on PC, and that is I believe where the vast majority of Phantasy Star Online 2s userbase is.

I mean that's fantastic. I hope it ends up on all platforms. My only concern is that, by being a timed-exclusive xbox one launching, it is going to hurt the launching of Phantasy Star Online 2 withholding it is PC launch, which is where I envision (maybe incorrectly) that most the playerbase for Phantasy Star Online 2 is. And they are doing so with https://www.pso2ah.com/ no benefits (console sales) that timed-exclusive launches are utilized for. It's potential, but my experience using FFXIV informs me that PC players make up the huge bulk of the western playerbase, also due to this PS4 userbase being substantially larger than the Xbox userbase this gen, I think that big majority is going to be split much more in favor of PC for Phantasy Star Online 2 (in regards to Xbox One/PC divide ).
