Francisco Cervelli activated from DL, returns to Pirates lineup

PHILADELPHIA — Eleven days after http://www.rd-corp.com/lou-gehrig-jersey-c-1_16.html he was placed on the concussion disabled list for the second time over a two-week span, Francisco Cervelli was back on the Pirates' active roster Monday.
The starting catcher was in the lineup and hitting seventh for Monday night's game against the Philadelphia Phillies.
“I've been feeling good since four days ago, so it's been a good progression,” Cervelli said Monday afternoon.
Cervelli was injured when he took a foul ball off his mask June 7 in Baltimore and promptly spent the minimum seven days on the concussion disabled list. His time back, though, lasted only four games before he was put back on the concussion DL on June 22.
Cervelli was bothered by a variety of symptoms, some of which might have been attributed to sinus issues he's been suffering from http://www.texansprosale.com/nick-martin-jersey-c-1_10.html this year.
“He wouldn't be cleared to play if he didn't hit all (medical) checkpoints,” manager Clint Hurdle said. “We've got to file paperwork with the commissioner's office and the players' association. They have doctors in both those respective things look over things and coordinate with (Pirates head trainer) Todd Tomczyk.”
Hurdle said Cervelli would not play consecutive games, at least for the duration of the series in Philadelphia that ends Thursday.
Cervelli, who said he “feels great,” said he didn't plan that arrangement to last long.
“My head has responded very well,” Cervelli said. “So I'm just happy to be back.”
Reliever Edgar Santana was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis to clear the roster spot. For the time being, the Pirates again will carry three C.C. Sabathia Womens Jersey catchers.
