Working mothers, either self-employed or others, who are registered in the Social Security or the corresponding Mutuality and who have or adopt a child in Spanish territory, are entitled to a deduction for maternity for each child up to 3 years. It is a universal aid, in which the only requirement is that you are working, therefore it would not correspond to you if you are unemployed, in a situation of leave of absence or disability. If you are low or pregnant you can apply for help, as long as you have a current employment contract.

Regarding the contribution time necessary to receive the benefit, the requirement is to have contributed to Social Security 15 days of each month, full-time, or half of the part-time work. In the case grants for single moms to buy a car of women workers in the agricultural sector, they need to have contributed at least 10 days a month.

The maximum amount of the deduction for maternity is 1,200 euros per year per child, which you can receive in a monthly fee of 100 euros per child if you indicate so.

The deduction can be applied in the income statement, although it can also be requested in advance, by calling 901 200 345, in person at the offices of the Tax Agency or by submitting the Form 140 of the Tax Agency duly completed.

This is an economic assistance managed by Social Security for people under 18 years of age or over in the case of disability equal to or greater than 65%. Therefore, children received permanently or prior to final adoption are included in this aid.
