Tears rolling down my face I openly wept as I thought about the difference between what was and is. I'd lost her, their was no going back. I'd made a mistake, the fight was dumb and shouldn't have happened. Who cares about her friends I don't need to lose her over something as silly as a fight.I remember how hopeless it all seemed.A little while later I wrote her a letter, I call it the clean slate letter. I came honest and upfront, I put my feelings down in a way that left me vulnerable, but no more then I had been.It was hand written. I showed up at her door, handed it to her, and went my separate way. I laid my feelings out right in front of her, and to this day it was one of my proudest moments.She called me shortly after that, and with a few more smart moves on my part we are still together to this day. Our relationship isn't perfect but it's strong.What I learned from all this, and why I share it with others who might be in this situation, is that you need to show your ex lover respect at all times. If you can't do that you probably aren't ready for a relationship.
