I always avoided indie games as I assumed low budget meant low quality. This was the first indie game I played (back on the xbox 360). I was really amazed by the cute cartoon graphics, the fantastic characterisation without using any voice acting, the humour and just the originality of the game. I knew nothing about the game when I bought it and so when you first discover Maw's main skill I was taken by surprise and instantly fell in love the characters and the game. The Maw opened my eyes to indie games. Indie games like this are just wonderful original experiences that you don't get from big budget AAA titles. They may not have the best graphics, physics or cameras but they can be really well crafted experiences that you remember for years. The game is great for kids, and adults, and although the graphics look a bit dated in places it is still a great game to play now. It is easy to complete the levels but it is a challenge to get 100%. Some people complain about the camera, but with a controller the game plays very well and you can control the camera. Using the controller I never had any camera problems. p.s. If you are trying to get 100%, don't let Maw use the tongue move. Always feed Maw one at a time. I am pretty sure that sometimes the tongue move does not give you the full count.. Ninja Reflex just doesn't seem to pack a ton of value, and the repetitive nature of the minigames may grate on you after a while. There's also a sense that this is probably a much better game on the Wii, since that system actually requires you to use your arms like a ninja. Overall, I would say it's "Okay" about a 6/10.. Won't run, crashes to desktop on Mac. I'm glad this game didn't cost too much because after a while it becomes boring. This game is probably best suited for younger casual gamers. After a while the little people aren't so appealing and fun to play with. So, I tend to forget them and leave them to die. But it's fun for a little while.. SECRET WONT PLAY WITH ME SO YOU. This is a surprisingly engaging poker sim! It mixes heads-up, cash, small (8 player), and large (80 player) tournament play well enough to help you procrastinate and (astonishingly) develop some useful poker skills. The AI is decent - not impressively smart, but overtly stupid, either. On the whole, I didn't really notice trends or styles particularly to AI opponents, but their play was varied enough to keep you on your toes and make the challenge feel relatively real. They bluff, slow-play, etc. Real tournament players would probably be a touch more conservative, but the AI was skilled enough to make winning the bigger tournaments genuinely difficult. I struggled a bit at first, but gradually became smarter about playing conservatively early in tournaments, then opening up the throttle once I'd secured a spot in the money. I also became much better at learning how and when to effectively bully opponents with shorter stacks. Let's be honest, a video game won't make you a pro, but this game does force you turn off any casual poker instincts you might have and learn to play competitively. Whether you want to put in the hours to fully beat the game or just take part in an occasional AI tourney, this game is worth picking up, particularly if you're patient enough to wait for it go on sale. I played here and there initially, then more obsessively as the tournaments got bigger. Definitely worth whatever beans I traded for the bundle it was in.. game fails to launch. I first played this a few years ago on xbox and recently bought it again for around a dollar. (this review is based about 70% from when I originally played it) Though this is a kids game, some of the objectives are barely clear what you need to do. I've spent a good amount of time wandering around looking for a solution for the puzzle they've put forth and have found nothing, forcing for me to look up a guide or video. With that being said, I did really enjoy it back then, and I've had a pretty good experience with it my 2nd time around. Though there are some times when I wish the character you played ran a little faster.. A Good Laugh, cheap and occasionaly frustrating but the physics and crashes make you smile. Excellent hybrid of FPS, RPG and Adventure, all refined with the trademark Raven Software's standards of quality and solidity! Bonus points for the amazing dark soundtrack by Kevin Schilder. Bloody combat, interesting locations, head-crushing puzzles.
