Star wars 3a episode ix- the rise of skywalker problems. Ok look, I love Star Wars. I've loved Star Wars since my parents showed me the first one when I was 3. But what was this movie in all honesty?
I'm 16. So no I'm not old. I enjoyed the first 2 new movies, characters, ect. even with all the plot holes and things that didn't make sense. But I can't look past this movie.
Today is my birthday and I really wanted to see this movie, so my and I family went and saw it. And I can't tell you how disappointed I am.
What is this movie? Really? Like really? Yes I'll give Disney and the Star Wars crew credit. They've got some amazing actors, some great special effects, and some awesome music. But what was this?
NOTHING MADE SENSE!
Their are so many loose strings and plot holes and things that could have been easily fixed or things that were so ridicules you think they would have been taken out. It was almost like the Disney team decided, let's just add this and this and this into the last movie."
Their was way to much going on in this movie. While I will give props to the Disney team, their were to many special effects and different plot lines going on at a time. It was to much for me to comprehend and I just couldn't understand and focus on 1 different thing.
The plot with palpatine is so STUPID. WHAT? While yes I didn't except Rey to be his granddaughter it was like the Disney team ran out of ideas. "Oh let's bring back a loved villain for no other reason than to screw with the plot and add an awful and terrible plot twist! It didn't make sense.
It was like the whole saga didn't exist anymore because of this twist and I found myself rolling my eyes and laughing at the utter stupidity of Rey's heritage.
I also thought it was so stupid that she was palpatines grandaughter. We have no idea who her parents are (but I'm sure Disney will make another damn spin off) and leading up to this movie I was anticipating Rey being Skywalker blood. But this didn't make sense to me. We didn't get to learn about her parents and we really still don't know much about Rey's heritage. The plot twist just wasn't good and the fact that palpatine is back was so confusing.
The movie was also way to predictable. I felt like I knew what was going to happen every second of the movie (except for the utter most stupid plot twist we got) and it didn't feel very fun to know what was going to happen every second of this movie.
And the fact that Rey and Ben kissed just set me off. They have hated each other (wanted to; and almost killed each other) for the past 2 and 3/4 movies. Sure, Rey healed Ben (which I'll talk about in a second) and Ben stepped down from the First Order + they helped each other with palpatine, But wtf? Their wasn't any relationship building and definitely not enough for them to kiss.
This movie also just threw in a bunch of different, random characters and added many plot lines to characters that were irrelevant to the story and things to characters that didn't make sense. I thought Poe worked for the Rebel side and now your telling me he was working at one point for the dark side. Ok whatever you say. It felt irrelevant. Why did they add this in?
It felt to much like a fantasy movie. Not like a sci-fi, and definitely not like Star Wars. Their were to many spirts and things going on.
AND, APPARENTLY JEDI CAN NOW JUST HEAL PEOPLE AND CONTROL LIGHTNING TO ENHANCE AND MOVE THE PLOT OF THE STORY? Wtf? Why? This was never mentioned before but suddenly now they can do this? IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!
+ Rey and Finn don't end up together which we were anticipating FOR 3 MOVIES AND 5 YEARS.
The movie title doesn't make any sense! Rise of Skywalker' ok sure, at the end of the movie Rey calls herself Rey Skywalker. But why 'Rise of Skywalker' It really has nothing to do with the movie or the loose ended plot.
This movie also TRIED to be dark, but added forced humor in, and it DIDN'T WORK! I didn't feel scared or like anything was at stake. I just felt like I wanted to know what the hell was going on, and why the movie was still running.
In conclusion, this movie felt so rushed yet it dragged on for SOOOO long. 2 and a half hours of my life I won't get back. We sit through a bunch of bull on a quest with Rey and her 'trusty sidekicks' watch expectedly as Ben turns good, see Rey fight between good and evil (likes she's done for the past 3 MOVIES) listen to nonsense, and watch as our 'favorite villain' palpatine comes back for no reason other than to make the plot seem good.
Their are to many plot holes and loose ends and IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE.
I've waited years, IM TELLING YOU, YEARS, for this we get THIS. Wow ok.
