postmortem one must die (extended cut)
overall, this is a very interesting game in my opinion with what you say to the characters inside and which character you choose to die, but it is not worth the $7 dollars as it is only one senario with just a few characters to speak to. so it is not well worth buying unless more senarios would be added in the future or if the price drops. the developer did well, but i would prefer more senarios to make the game itself better as one senario with just 6-7 characters isn't worth much other then $3, even with the choices and interesting elements in-game. hope this review inspires you to improve the game and add in more senarios for you.. If you long for reading RPG tect, this is the game for you!
Seriously though, great story for a passable game. It's good for a single play-through.. this game doesn't work at my laptop with Intel GMA 4500MHD :/. I admit that I will have to agree with some other reviewers here. It had an interesting idea and concept, the character art is very nice, and it did spark my interest, because hey, this is the kind of game I'd love to play!
But sadly enough it fell rather flat. After killing one person, you're done, and that's nothing that takes a long time. Trying to play it again gets repetitive, there's absolutely nothing new to do and whoever you kill you still get the exact same ending.. The premise for this really just didn't deliver for me. The promise of options seemed exceptionally shallow during playthrough.. quot;Think The Walking Dead meets Home and The Last Express, with a dash of To The Moon!"
Obviously the developer never played any of the above games, and are just tossing out GOOD games to compare their BAD game to. I get it.. you are an indie developer and you are getting your feet wet, but don't go as far as trying to compare this trainwreck into nicely polished games. This short narrative game falls very flat. The writing is extremely drab and poorly executed. I mean, if you are going to make a NARRATIVE GAME that the primary focus is READING walls of text, then you'd think to proof-read it and make sure it was all free of mistakes. Not the case, I'm afraid. It feels like it was all tossed together on RPG-Maker quickly to try and make a few bucks. I have played many better games made on similar platform that were made in a fraction of the time this took to complete. I'm a bit ashamed to think I helped greenlight this game to Steam, and I will not be greenlighting any more of this developer's endeavors after such a big let down.
The TLDR; - Game is a shoddy wall of text, you play 1 scenario, and the game takes a total of 20 minutes at most to complete. Save yourself the money and go buy a paperback novel. It will be much more rewarding.. This is hardly what I would call a game, it is more of a glorfided demo. You basically just read and make ONE decision. No interactivity. The concept has a lot of promise, but charging people for this "game" is almost criminal.. While the interface could be a little cleaner it isn't game-breaking, and the content is excellent. There are enough choices that in my battery of playthroughs I don't any conversation went *exactly* the same. I definitely see myself trying to get more outcomes and putting more time into this.
