This was recommended to me by, let's be honest, essentially a total stranger. I decided to check it out, because they seemed to have really enjoyed playing it. SPOILER: I ended up loving this game. At first, I found a lot of things to criticise. The pause menu is incredibly lackluster (only one option), and pressing escape while the pause menu is open just. Opens the pause menu again. It took me a while to figure out that you aren't actually supposed to leave your chair, and the instructions weren't exactly placed in what I thought was the most intuitive way. You only start with one pot, and that pot can only house one flower. When I was just starting, I had a LOT of mediocre plants. Succulents, for the most part. I thought "This is the whole game?" not even bothering to catalogue the plants I'd discovered. This is important, because the cataloguing of plants is one of the best parts of the game. Every time you discover a plant, it's up to YOU to fill out a card detailing information about that plant. That card is displayed when you pick up seeds in the future, so you know just what you're about to plant, and you can re-order plants when viewing their card in your collection. Giving each and every plant a unique description is extremely therapeutic, and I found it to actually be kind of fun. You find your way into a cycle: 1. Order new seeds 2. Plant the seeds; see what grows 3. Catalogue the seeds 4. Repeat and found myself so enamoured by this cycle that I almost forgot to pay attention to the other main feature of the gameu2014 Requests, wherein people post what kinds of plants they want on the internet, you send them a picture of a plant you've grown (or arrangement of plants), and they respond with whether or not they want it, the next day. It's through these requests that you accrue reputation points, which are how you rank up. As you get reputation points, you can buy different pots with pot vouchers. Different pots can house different numbers of plants. But it's really in that cycle that this game shines. It's more of a relaxing experience, and it's easy to lose yourself to it. Monotonous, but in a way that doesn't quickly get dull or boring. I'd fully recommend this game, but know what you're getting into. It's more of an experience than an objective-driven game.. Really nice game. Relaxing soundtrack, and it's a lot of fun seeing what will grow from your chosen words. The plant requests by people are great as well, really satisfying to complete player requests.. I'm definitely having fun discovering the different plants. The art style is simple and cute and I enjoy the overall atmosphere. The only downside is when my mouse disappears from the screen- even after I his esc to do the quick fix there are still issues. Specifically I mean that I am no longer able to select my seeds even after this quick fix. I would also love if there was a seperate slider for music volume vs ambient sounds.. This game is a lot more fun than I expected it to be! It is casual and kind of repetitive in a relaxing way. I finished it in 6 hours, but I am pretty sure I will play it again. Didnu00b4t expect it to run smoothly. Some bugs with mouse-pointer disappearing or mouse actions not acting properly. Can be "fixed" by opening the game menu but reoccurs again and again. Music playing two loops together - at least you can take music off :). I love the randomized plants, always a surprise what you get with new seeds. Still have a problem to figure out the difference between succulents and grass sometimes. Easy gameplay, not much to do ATM but I played for 3 hours now and itu00b4s relaxing . if there werenu00b4t those little bugs. But restarting the game helps, sometimes. But you lose all your effort for that day.. This is a great game, and it's very relaxing, especially to someone like me that suffers from generalized anxiety disorder. Sometimes, it's good to appreciate a game that you don't have time-limits, enemies, etc. and just have a fun time trying out new plants and fulfilling requests. There are a few bugs within the game, thankfully nothing game-breaking, and the majority of these will most likely be fixed with patches in time.. Very cute, fun/relaxing game! Always exciting picking a word and seeing what that seed will grow into.
