Impressionism opened the doors to the investigation of painting, about painting.  The important thing was not what was painted but how it was painted. Still life themes from Impressionism clearly reflect this change of position.  The modern still life is inscribed in the painting of the second half of the 20th century and differs from the previous decades in the inclusion of non-pictorial procedures and techniques. The painting is considered a medium among all those that can be used by the plastic artist, including photography, advertising printing, found objects, among others.
