veranda . We would like to help you further with choosing a veranda or an extension.
The first rays of sunlight appear, nature slowly begins to bloom and the birds chirp. Spring is here and summer is just around the corner. Your new veranda is the perfect place to be connected to nature, or even to sit outdoors. Make sure you know the purpose of your veranda. Do you only want to be able to relax in the summer, or all year round?
What is the difference between a veranda and an extension?
The main difference between the veranda and an extension is the presence of windows. Do you have enough space and do you want to add character to your home? Then a veranda is an option. It provides a separate part of your home. An extension ensures an extension of the living space, for example, in the living room or kitchen. In general, you can say that a veranda is always an extension, but an extension is not always a veranda.
Windows
A clear feature of the veranda is the presence of windows and glass. Usually a veranda consists entirely of glass, even the roof. This gives you the feeling and atmosphere of a conservatory faster. Due to the presence of the windows and glass, you get the connection between inside and outside faster. It is even possible to enjoy your garden and the view in winter. The veranda is often very cold, but you can quickly remedy this by using a heater. Often a fireplace is also chosen to add extra character to the veranda.
Preparing to build a veranda
Make sure you know what you want, even if you don't know it yet. Take the time to orient yourself and outline requirements and wishes on paper. Perhaps you can try to get started with a sketch already. Which materials do you want to use? You can, for example, choose from aluminum or a veranda made of wood . The floor also determines a large part of your veranda. Here you can choose to build the veranda on the existing tiles, but also use decking for example. Enough to think about.
Choose the spot for your veranda
If you want to have the veranda installed, first think carefully about where you want it exactly. Most people choose the south and so you can fully enjoy the sun. But be careful, in summer temperatures can get very high. It is also possible to:
North: with the veranda facing north, you will hardly be bothered by the sun. If you opt for the north, heating is definitely recommended.
East: with the veranda facing east, it is especially nice in the morning hours. It can cool down in the afternoon, which is why heating is also recommended.
West: if your veranda is located in the west, you have the sun for the afternoon until sunset, great, but it can rise in temperature. Sun protection or ventilation is definitely recommended.
Delivery time
The difference between an extension and a veranda is certainly also in the time it takes to install it. With an extension, we work with various parties such as roofers, masons, plasterers, etc. To install a veranda, there is often only one party involved. For example, it is possible to complete the veranda in a few days. With an extension this can easily take several months.
