All in all, Space Marine captures the essence of the Warhammer universe: huge, classic factions and their infinite fight for control, the weapons and the power of the high tech future.. This game is alot of fun, plenty of action, slaying of heretics, etc. however the reason i give this a thumbs down is because its not worth $40, it took me 5 hours to complete and some people could prebably do it in less, this is one of those games id stick at $20 it has very little replay-ability and i feel its price is unjustified.. This game got me into the Warhammer 40,000 universe, so I highly recommend this. It is short but memorable just like Metal Gear Rising. The gameplay is exciting. The story is interesting, and the characters are memorable. For a game that deviates from the standard RTS that is WH40k by having this game as a third-person shooter, the developers have done a great job to introduce the WH40k fandom to potential fans. A word of caution when it comes to multiplayer, there is a huge skill gap -- in terms of item unlocks due to leveling -- between veteran players and newbies so do not get angry when you get obliterated on your first online game (the fact that there are not a lot of players makes it difficult to earn items, perks, and weapons that can give you the competitive edge).. This game is a very nice surprise.

Usually, Sega gameplay are somehow clumsy, but this one is a very good game, as it really translate very well the W40K universe, and its superstars, the space marines.

You will play as one of them, the Captain Titus of teh Ultramarines.

The campaign is very good, with a good narrative a lot of chapters (17), most of them playing flawlessly.

The level design a quite linear, but it serves the purpose of focusing on the combat, and to this regard, it is a pure success. Combats are swift, violent and gory, with some nice executions hand to hands, depending on the weapon you have.

The musics are also nice, as they feel epic, which only strengthen the unic atmosphere of the game.

To date, I consider this game as the best experience I had with the W40K universe (better than Dawn of war, but it's also another type of game).

I definitely recommend it!. Awesome scenery, various weapons and strategies.

-You absolutely need to start you combo's before you enemy reaches you.-

It starts out pretty bland, just a few types of Ork, pretty straightforward combat. It very quickly becomes a lot more ... interesting. There's no Arkham\/Assassins creed timed combat. You need to crowd control intelligently, kite around mobs and use your firepower properly.

Early on, you're just chopping your ways through hordes. Soon enough, you'll need to be smart about picking your first enemy, keeping an appropriate distance and timing your blows. There are no warnings or prompts, only enemies whose attacks are not interrupted unless you end an appropriate combo before they can hit you.

11 hours of great fun on medium.. One of the best games I've ever played
Glorious violence, melee and shooting blended to make combat intense.
Online is still alive and it will never die, just don't expect to jump in and do well
Some of us have been here a long time (note most of my hours are on xbox)

Would recommend to anyone willing to put the time in to learn the game. wish the multi-player mode is not dead, and Leandros is a tool. Can't think for himself.. I had fun playing this game though i can understand if some find it lacking because it is. Production was not kind to the development of this game but still they managed to push out something solid.
For example
Enviroment: while it might be accurate in the grimdark future of the galaxy, I still think theres room for more varied designs and different scenery.
Combat: Easy to grasp and good power behind it but lacking some finer nuances.
Story: meh not bad but not exactly memorable either.

Mayby youve noticed it already from reading this, this game couldve been so much more and I believe theres a great amount of potential in these kinds of games within the Warhammer 40k universe.. This game got me into the Warhammer 40,000 universe, so I highly recommend this. It is short but memorable just like Metal Gear Rising. The gameplay is exciting. The story is interesting, and the characters are memorable.
