What is AdBlue and why does your diesel car need it?

Although most new diesel vehicles are equipped with an exhaust treatment system called Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR).

AdBlue is not a fuel additive, it is a registered name for a brand of diesel exhaust fluids - owned by the German Automobile Association - which must be regularly checked in the automotive tank.

AdBlue is a non-toxic diesel exhaust fluid, consisting of highly purified urea and demonized water used in diesel engine exhaust treatment to reduce harmful emissions. Although it is odorless and non-toxic, it can corrode metal surfaces.

Benefits of the AdBlue environment

AdBlue aims to significantly reduce NOx emissions that harm the environment and thus meet the stringent emission limits set by European standards (Euro 6) - which are standard for controlling emissions of new vehicles sold in the European Union and America.

AdBlue fluid testing is injected into the exhaust gases and can filter more than 90% of harmful gas emissions from nitrogen oxide to steam and nitrogen, which reduces pollution.
