Final Fantasy drives sales of Square Enix through profitable quarters

Square Enix announced its quarterly financial results as of June 30th, due to its iconic Final Fantasy franchise, which grew compared to the same period last year.

The publisher reported net sales of $50.97 million, an increase of 19.1% over last year. During the quarter, Square Enix released Final Fantasy XII for the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One: the Zodiac era and the Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster. Even without a technical "new" release, expectations for Shadowbringers drove the sales of Final Fantasy XIV and FFXIV Gil and brought the re-creators of the old Final Fantasy games to a new platform, which helped open to more viewers.
