ROTFLMAO. Unfortunately it came on mine also :( You are obviously a beginner. Being a CIS degree and former certified MS product instructor, I have a better understanding. It is a HUGE memory hog, painfully slow start up even stalls out other memory hogs like IE browser, and it tends to LOSE songs, especially those not specifically licensed to you.

would like to see microsoft create a windows media player for Windows 10.

The biggest new feature in WMP11 is the ability to sign up with paid music and video services. Without registering, we were able to browse various sites and compare prices among services including XM Radio--all from the Windows Media Player interface. We like the new, cleaner look, and the back and forward buttons make it easier to navigate. The ability to sort music by year released makes for some great reminiscing. Overall, we think the latest Windows Media Player offers almost everything you need for every type of media, making it a solid choice for an all-in-one jukebox.

Windows Media Player 11 for Windows XP adds a lot of useful bells and whistles to your music and video files, succeeding in many ways as a competitor to iTunes for Windows. A tree-style file directory makes it easy to find the music you want quickly, and a simple search box gets you where you want to go immediately. A five-star rating system lets you rate your music, then organize it by rating, so it's easy to group your favorite songs. Drag-and-drop functionality and a handy Create Playlist button take any confusion out of the process of making your own playlists. Creating the perfect mix CD is equally as easy--simply drag and drop songs into a Burn List in the right panel, then click Start Burn to finish. Ripping was reasonably fast on our test machine, and the program let us pick our preferred bit rate and audio file type.

After a while, it forgets some songs, or duplicates parts of albums, loses songs or whole albums and generally messes up your whole library. Also it tries to automatically "correct" or do things when you are manually entering in the correct information.
There are at least fifteen songs on my computer, (yes, they're in my "Music Library" with all my other songs) that WMP can't see on it's own. If I double-click the song from Windoes Explorer, WMP plays it just fine. But if I open WMP and try to find the song, the player comes back with nothing.

this worked great on WIndows 10 on tell the last couple of months and now it closes out with no error message(s), just closes out, where can I find the close out report.

Will not load to Windows7 Home Premium useless as is every other program that M/Soft puts out. All they want is for you to send them information so that they can try to fix it sometimes at a very high cost to the user.

Not very many. Except the hidden menus and that live streaming is disabled by default. Not a fan of the Library idea either.

I need WMP-12 as I have WIN7. Some how my WMP-12 got corrupted and I now see that it is unavailable as a download.
comes in German instead of English and when I guessed at what it said it failed to load. My version doubled all the music in the library. 2 of every song.

Starts up fast and plays most music files. And videos. even Quicktime MOV!

You can't add a song to a playlist if the program can't see it on it's own.
