CR for VS2010 SP2: Problems with Progress OpenEdge 10.2B ODBC.
We have used Crystal Reports 9 WinForms components for several years in our applications to run reports based on data from Progress OpenEdge RDBMS. After upgrade of our app from Crystal Reports 9 to Crystal Reports for VS2010 we are observing next problems or changed behavior:
We are not able to successfully override DSN information build into report by file DSN specified in the .config file. Here our code:
While this code is working against CR9, with CR for VS2010 report shows error:
Message from . _runtime.log CR logging file:
After checking SQL command sent to RDBMS we've found, that in the FROM clause are missing DbOwner qualifiers before table names, and thus tables are not qualified by DbOwner (e.g. PUB, SYS etc.) as it is required by Progress RDBMS.
We have added line table.Location = table.Location , which reverts lost owner qualifier in resulting SQL command. BUT, this works only for simplest reports with tables from one owner. If we have more complex reports with tables and views from different owner namespaces, this line of code rises next exception:
Our environment: Windows Server 2003 R2 32-bit, .NET 3.5 SP1, Progress OpenEdge 10.2B SP5.
We have tried both versions of Progres ODBC driver, pgoe1023.dll and pgoe1024.dll, and results are the same.
We have also found, that app was working correctly with components from CR XI R2 SP3, but after applying latest SP6 to CR XI we've got COMException (0x80000304): Invalid Argument provided again.
We also tried table.Location = databaseName , but result was the same, COMException (0x80000304): Invalid Argument provided .
So the question: how in CR for VS2010 we should correctly override report's DSN during run-time?
