What is an assessment center, and what is it useful for?

The assessment centers or 11 Plus Online Test centers are a series of exercises where the skills of the candidates required for a specific job vacancy are tested. These are one of the most reliable methods when assessing and knowing the skills of candidates who apply for a vacancy.

If methods such as interviews, psycho technical tests, or technical tests are applied individually, it will only have about 15% effectiveness and accuracy. However, when these different methods are used together to carry out a selection process, it is more likely to be effective, increasing the accuracy of the process by up to 70%. The center can also have 11 Plus Past Papers.

Organizations accept the assessment centers as a fair selection method because it provides equal opportunity for all candidates who are running a process for a vacancy. The exercises that are carried out allow the people in charge of the process to obtain more information from the candidates on how they would face their future tasks.

  • Numerical skills

  • Working under pressure
  • Teamwork

What exercises are part of an assessment center?

The most important thing in an 11 Plus assessment center is to evaluate and evaluate at all times the exercises that are carried out to select the ideal candidate. These exercises involve the following activities:

Observation

The observational exercise is effective in assessing personal attributes and job skills. These exercises allow creating complete visibility of the skills that the candidates possess concerning the position to which they are applying.

Group exercises (case resolution)

In general, in group exercises, you are asked to discuss a specific topic or to discuss problems or difficulties that may arise in the work environment. In the vast majority of cases, they will not compete against the other candidates, but the entire group will be put to the test, each participant equitably.

The evaluators are responsible for observing how individuals interact with each other and how the group exercise takes place. Of course, not all assessment centers are standardized. These depend on the skills, competencies, and aptitudes that the specific position needs.

Presentations

Candidates are given any subject and have a certain time to prepare it. In this exercise, aspects such as time management, public management, ability to speak in public, the ability to analyze, and the ability to present the main points will be observed. You can get help from 11 Plus Practice Papers.
