People who think that passing stats are important should listen to Peps review on Spain during the World cup, you can pass a lot, and even if they are successful it doesn’t mean it is useful, and this is true for almost every statistic in Football, like goals scored, especially in Italy you will not see many players scoring more than 20 goals in a year, because they are horrible attackers? No in Italy they play more defensive and they used to have very good defenders. My opinion on Messi is that it is a great player at Barcelona, because he is the most effective part of the machine, however if you place him outside this machine, he is pretty useless, and we have seen this many times.
