Using Microsoft Team Chat Commands for Saving Valuable Time

Microsoft is continuously trying to improve the sets of features and channel tabs (customizable), which will make the interface experience heavy but fair in the Microsoft Team. With the addition of these features, users can work quickly (such as keyboard shortcuts) and able to leave the sections which are entirely unrelated to them.

Users can access the Chat Command with the help of the Central Search Box, which is located on the top of the window of Microsoft Team. Now, you have to tap into the search box. When you type “/,” then you see all the commands acceptable here. You can search for the command you want to run, and if you know, the command enters that command after the “/” (such as /keys) and hits the enter button.

The shortcut to access the search bar is Ctrl + E. Now, you can write the command without any help of the mouse. Ctrl + K will show you the complete list of the command. It supports a large number of commands which cover the most common functions. Some of them are here, but if you wish to see the complete list, then you should visit the Support Site of Team.

/available: If you use this command, it will convert the status to “Available.”
In the same way, you can set the status to Busy, Away, and Do Not Disturb simply running the command with the prefix /.
/call: This call will begin the new request. This command will work only in one condition that, in the team’s plan, you are allowed to make the call.
/goto: This command will navigate you to the desired app or folder without using the mouse. Now you have to enter the command, and then you have to add the name of the channel or the team.
/mentions: It will quickly navigate you to the tab named “Activity,” and it will include the message.
/saved: It will allow you to check the Saved Message.
/testcall: It will check the working condition of Team call/
/unread: Now, you will be able to open the tab of Activity. It will show the unreviewed activities.
/ is not the only one type of the command type, and you have the option of using @. You use the @, then it will allow you to send a message quickly. Then you have to enter the contact name, and now you can type the message. It can be accessed from any location in the app.

You can revoke other apps like the same way you do the message. If you have an application (like News), then type @news in the Search bar, this way you will get the latest news article from that application without switching the application.

Surely, as a regular user, it may take time to learn about the commands available in here. If you use this app, then you can avoid the extended command typing. For that, you can tap the button “tab.”

So you can use the search bar for saving the time and easy access to the command.
