Mechanical seals or heavy duty seals are specially designed for applications that rotate in extreme environments that are resistant to heavy wear and prevent the ingress of coarse rough bags. Mechanical Face Seals are Heavy Duty Seal, Face Seal, Lifetime Seal, Floating Seal, Duo Cone Seal, Toric Seal, Mechanische Laufwerkdichtungen (Bulgarian), Mekaniske (Bulgarian), Механични Челни Уплътнения (Danish), Mekaaninen otsatiiviste Joints' Is provided. There are two types of Mechanical Face Seals / Heavy Duty Seals.

The DO type is the most common form of using O-rings as secondary sealing elements.
The DF type is a secondary sealing element instead of an O-ring.

In both types, two identical metal seal rings are mounted in two separate housings facing each other in a wrapped seal. The metal ring is centered in the housing by an elastomeric element. Half of the mechanical face seal is fixed to the housing and the other half rotates with the counter face.

These include:

Vehicle tracking such as excavators and bulldozers
Conveyor system
scow
Tunnel boring machine
Agricultural machinery
