Poodles have dense curly coats. They also shed minimally but their fur needs regular grooming. Their coats can be groomed to any style. Most people will find it amusing to see a well-styled Poodle. And Poodles seem to be proud of their dos.
The origin of Poodles is a bit shady but they are widely considered to be water dogs. They were originally bred to be retrievers or pointers. Today, even Toy Poodles display their instinctive pointing characteristics.
Like many smaller dogs, Poodles are full of energy. They tend to yap to get attention because they constantly want to have full of it. Poodles need companionship they donít want to be alone. They will always stick with their masters. When you become indifferent towards them they become anxious and they might get unruly if often neglected.
Poodles have remarkable intelligence. They thrive in obedience and tricks training. They genuinely like mental stimulation but unfortunately, their attention spans can be very short. When training Poodles, it is best to do it in areas with fewer distractions. Training should also be in short durations.
Being overly energetic breeds, owners must teach calm behaviors to their Poodles. If you allow them to jump at you and yap always, it will be like that for the remainder of their lives. Unwanted behaviors should be corrected as early as possible. Train them early to help them develop into well-behaved house pets.
Training them should never be harsh. Poodles are very sensitive and they donít respond well from scolding and spanking. Positive reinforcement with treats and over the top praises is the best approach to train Poodles.
Poodles are very eager to please. They are affectionate and never aggressive towards people. They are social butterflies and very amiable. Poodles are naturally good with children. They are warm and playful with their young masters and mistresses. But this can only be achieved through extensive socialization when Poodles are still young.
Play time is essential for this breed. Always have time to play with them. They may not require vigorous exercises but they need their regular dose of accompanied play and training.
They can adapt well in any type of living conditions. Poodles do not require expansive areas to be happy. Apartment living is good enough for them. Housetraining Poodles is amazingly very easy. They are naturally clean and with consistent housetraining, they will know where is the intended spot for them to pee or move their bowels.
Having a well-trained Poodle as companions will make you a fanatic of the breed. They are fun, funny, friendly, loyal, and loving pets.
