Canada heat transfer paper gain against the Calgary Flames in an exhibition

Connor McDavid scored two goals, and Leon Draisaitl had an help for the Edmonton Oilers in a 4-1 Canada heat transfer paper gain against the Calgary Flames in an exhibition at Rogers Place on Tuesday.

McDavid was second in NHL scoring this season behind Draisaitl with 97 points (34 goals, 63 assists) in 64 games.

Draisaitl, a finalist for the Hart Trophy seeing that NHL most valuable player and Ted Lindsay Award as most outstanding participant in the NHL as voted by fellow people of the NHL Players' Association, won the Art Ross Trophy while the leading scorer with an NHL career high 110 points (43 goals, 67 assists) in 71 games.

Kailer Yamamoto also scored for the Oilers, who have enter the Stanley Cup Qualifiers as the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference. Mikko Koskinen started in goal and saved all 17 shots in 29:41. Mike Smith made 19 saves in relief.

Elias Lindholm scored for the Flames, the Zero. 8 seed in the West. Cam Talbot made 19 saves on 21 shots in 29:40, and David Rittich produced seven saves in comfort.

Yamamoto scored Phoenix Suns window decals stickers on a rebound to give Edmonton, which played seeing that the road team customized t shirt print in its home arena, a 1-0 lead at 1:04 of the first period.

McDavid made it 2-0 at 7:44 on the power play when he lifted a shot over Talbot after taking a cross-slot pass from Draisaitl. The Oilers led the NHL on the energy play during the regular period (29.5 percent).

Lindholm managed to get 2-1 when he lifted a go over Smith on the power play at 19:56 of the second.

Patrick Russell scored in 15:26 of the third period, and McDavid scored five-hole 33 seconds later to make it 4-1.

The Stanley Glass Qualifiers, eight best-of-5 series and two four-team round-robins, begin Aug. 1. Each of the 24 teams participating will play one exhibition game.
