Does Thor Have the Same Healing Powers as Wolverine?

We know the God of Thunder is one of the strongest Avengers, he has proven time and again that his might is second to none. Combined with his hammer Mjolnir, he can hit you hard enough that you fly through space and fall on some other planet. But does he ever get hit? Do we ever see him on the other side of the beating? And if he does get hurt, how fast does he heal? M

Healing is not one of the characteristics highlighted by the movies. But Thor can heal well if the situation occurs. If we were to go by the comic verse, there is the 2012 Uncanny Avengers #16-17 issue that shows us this hidden power. The story starts with the turned protégé’s of Kang the Conqueror, the Apocalypse Twins. Named Uriel and Eimim, the two gang up with Exitar the Celestial Executioner with an intent to destroy Earth.

Does Thor Have the Same Healing Powers as Wolverine?

The evil team is faced by Captain America and the God of Thunder before they can go through their plans. Thor takes on Uriel and fights him with a god-like vengeance. The twins were also behind stealing his Jarnbjorn, the ax he enchanted celestially. Son of Odin pushes the twin with robust might as a portal opens behind the evil twin. The portal opens up to the sun, and as soon as Uriel is pushed inside, he is burned to ashes. But while pushing him in, Thor’s arms get burned to the bone. This is one of the rare occurrences where we see him so deeply mutilated. Thor moves his attention to the other twin and Exitar but now equipped with much lesser power.

The God of Thunder and Captain fail to stop them from executing their plan, and the Earth ends up being destroyed. This is where we see Thor healing furiously fast. He immediately flies off to Asgard after the failure to take his father’s counsel. We see here how fast his arm is healing as within minutes the skin starts coming back, and his hand is seemingly fine. But is this healing power the same or comparable to X-Men’s lauded Wolverine’s?

That is not the case. Wolverine is based on the idea of indestructibility. His healing prowess supports the notion that he could survive almost any fight. At one point in the comics, he regenerates his entire body from a single drop of his blood. Now, as powerful as Thor is, that isn’t something we expect him to do. I mean, Wolverine could get an armed chopped off, and it would come back neatly. But the same isn’t true for Thor.

And thus, even though he remains a mighty and influential part of the Marvel franchise and the Avengers, there are some things even he is inept of.
