Right in the midst of the concluding few days of the National Wildlife Week, the netizens have been talking about an exciting video that has come to the limelight. In the 32-seconds clip, a forest guard in Gir National Park is seen convincing a lion in the Gujarati language to move away from the road so that he can go back home.
The lion is seated right in the middle of the road inside Gir Forest In the video, the forest guard is pleading to the lion, saying that he had a hectic day at work and that he would be benefited if the lion makes way for him so that he can head towards his home.
What happens next is truly surprising. The King of Jungle stands up, leaving the road he starts walking towards the jungle.
The Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Mr. Prakash Javadekar, shared the clip of the Gir Jungle incident on his Twitter handle with a hashtag relating to the National Wildlife Week (#wildlifeweek2020). To express his amazement, he further added, “A Gir Forest employee finds a lion on the road. He tries to explain in Gujarati, the lion that he has been working the whole day, and request to kindly let him go home. And, the king of jungle obliges… A beautiful example of harmonious co-existence.”
This whole Gir Wildlife Sanctuary incident went viral on all the social media platforms, a day after our Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared an inspiring message to share his thoughts about Wildlife Week 2020. He stated that the nation has lately started paying efforts to the conservation of endangered species by sowing the seeds of dedicated projects, including ‘Project Lion’ and ‘Project Dolphin’. Besides, our country has already achieved success in two such projects, which are ‘Project Tiger’ and ‘Project Elephant’.
Through the inspirational message, the Prime Minister also said, “Coinciding with the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the apostle of peace and non-violence, the celebration of ‘Wildlife Week’ is an ideal occasion to reaffirm our commitment towards conservation of wildlife and harmonious co-existence of all living beings.”
Earlier, on June 10, 2020, Modi Ji took to Twitter for announcing that the population of the Royal Asiatic Lions in the Sasan Gir National Park has gone up. The commitment and dedication that the Gujarat Forest Department is paying to conserve the Asiatic Lions are utterly commendable.
