Acne; it even sounds like a horrible word and having to live with acne is worse. Though there is still a lot we don't understand about acne and behest our best efforts to find some sort of cure, we have a myriad of acne creams and treatments that some swear work exceptionally.(rogaine amazon)
Everybody's skin is different, what works for one person might not work for another and vice versa. With all of the different acne systems and cream out there it can be hard to find and stick with the best one. There are some universal truths that are the same for most acne treatments and if we all educate ourselves on how the acne creams really work than we might just understand our skin a bit more.

First off, everyone needs to understand that no, I repeat no acne cream will make your acne go away in two or three days let alone overnight. Even the best acne systems take at least a week to start seeing any significant results. Those companies that say "Acne Free in 3 Days" or any other variation are scams and usually have the lowest possible grade ingredients. Make sure you always thoroughly research not just the product but the company who makes it as well.

Acne creams and gels that are chemically based or made with artificial fragrances have a tendency to cause irritation and inflammation; one of the main causes of acne. Benzoyl Peroxide is a key ingredient in most of the over the counter and prescription acne creams and is known to cause dryness, peeling, sensitivity, inflammation and tenderness. All side effects you could do without when trying to soothe inflamed skin and reduce breakouts. Some of the best acne creams are made with a revolutionary organic ingredient known as Resveratrol which is harvested from the skin of grapes. In recent studies Resveratrol was shown to kill acne bacteria better than Benzoyl, without any of the negative side effects.

If there's one complaint I've heard over and over it's "my acne treatment makes me breakout worse". Anyone who's ever used an acne treatment has experienced this at least once. The truth is that breaking out at the start of an acne treatment is for the most part normal. Breaking out means that your acne cream is working although it may not seem like it is. The best acne creams work from the inside out to essentially push out and eliminate bacteria and dirt, as these impurities are being expelled, they need to go somewhere and a pimple is formed. Most of the new acne never comes to a head and soon goes away. If you start breaking out severely or any other sort of extreme adverse reaction, obviously discontinue use, but a regular breakout it totally normal and a good thing. After your acne treatment's pushed out all of that excess toxins and such, breakouts should be much less frequent if at all.

No acne treatment is effective if you're not consistent. Consistency is absolutely essential if you want to clear up acne and honestly most people are just not on top of applying their acne cream daily. Work it into your morning and nighttime routine; make sure you're applying at the appropriate intervals and don't leave it on overnight (unless directed) or you will definitely breakout. The point is that no one got the best at anything without taking the time to start working at it first. If you want your skin to be clear you have to keep at it and not give up.

So the next time you're trying to decide what's the best acne cream, remember that most of them are formulated to work from the inside out so breaking out a little more for a couple day is normal albeit irritating. All acne creams need to be given the time to see what they can do; there's no instant gratification in this world and acne is no different but with the right care, proper attention, and a little patience you can be on your way to clear, acne free skin
