Turkish coffee pots are a staple in the culture of many countries. They're traditionally made of copper, but there are also stainless steel and aluminum varieties. The pot sits on top of a burner or heating plate that is connected to an electrical outlet. The water boils and drips slowly through the coffee grounds into the pot below until it reaches just below boiling point at which time it's removed from heat so as not to over-extract the oils from the ground beans. It's then served with sugar and/or cream according to personal taste. Some people prefer their Turkish coffee black; others will put milk in theirs, too! In Turkey, they drink this type of coffee during breakfast time because they believe it stimulates their brains while waking them up for Turkish Coffee Kettle
