It’s the time of year when, despite current circumstances, people may still be going to parties. All set to go out and taking exceptional care of their appearance. People always want to look their best when hitting the town, attending a family get together or an office night out.

Unfortunately, despite looking to have fun, a considerable number suffer from a skin complaint which can be a source of discomfort. It can make them feel self-conscious, affect their confidence and mood, and how they feel about themselves, impacting their personal happiness.

One of the most common skin conditions is acne, where hair follicles become cluttered with dead skin cells and oil, causing pimples, whiteheads, and blackheads.

The consensus is that acne mostly affects teenagers, but adults can also show the signs. According to NHS research, over 90% of the UK population between 11 and 30 suffer from acne, so it is more commonplace than first thought.

There are many reasons why a person may suffer from acne. It can have various triggers, from hormonal changes to diet and lifestyle, to stress and medication. The complaint may also be the result of a build-up of bacteria, inflammation and if skin and pores are not cleaned on a regular basis.

Those suffering from acne are looking for the right solution to clean up their condition and CBD oil is now seen as a practical treatment for skin complaints like acne. Reportedly, especially when taken tropically, and combined with a carrier oil such as coconut oil or olive oil, amongst others.

But how exactly can CBD aid in the treatment of acne? The answer is, in many different ways. The complaint may differ in severity, size, and strength, based on individual cases, but there is one common factor: the presence of sebum.

Acne is caused when hair follicles, minute holes in the skin hair grows out of, become blocked. The follicles are connected to miniscule glands called Sebaceous glands, located near the surface. They lubricate the skin and hair, preventing them from drying out, by creating the aforementioned sebum, a substance resembling oil. However, if the glands create an excess of sebum, it combines with dead skin cells to fill in the follicle.

Fortunately, Cannabidiol has been shown to alter the rate of sebum in the body. Scientists have also been looking at whether CBD can block the creation of too much sebum, which can make vast inroads in the prevention of acne.

Cannabidiol is known for its anti-inflammatory properties, which can bring down the swelling usually connected with acne. This is combined with being an antioxidant, safeguarding the skin from the elements, as well as pollutions and what are known as free radicals which can have a detrimental effect.

CBD can also help with what is considered the single worst aspect of acne; breakouts, By incorporating CBD into your daily skincare routine, you can eradicate excess oil production; thought to be the very cause of the condition.

All in all, you can take the first step to reducing the signs of acne and treating the complaint by using CBD oil. It could change your life.
