Hello, I'm Danica! A 2020, 2021, 2022 bride! Don't mind me – just keeping all the titles I can, whilst I wait to obtain married.

COVID-19 continues to be an insane blur for people. Very in the early stages, my fiance and I decided that people were within the camp waiting for it. Whilst a number of our peers decided like a toast to romance to obtain married regardless of the circumstances, we penned an extremely different thought.

For us, it was our nod not to feel like our love would expire or combust, and to use the extra time afforded to us to navigate life like a unit.

In doing this, I allow us the mindset of 'you never fully realize someone before you see them scared'. Tonnes of news articles, varying medical health advice, and being stuck indoors with one another for almost annually has taken its toll. There have been times when we've stared at each other certain the other is speaking another language. We've dug deep and questioned our values and evaluated our biases.

In yesteryear two years we've had what we should think we wanted our wedding to become, be brought out from underneath us. And yes, we lost all of the money.

We lost our social networking when we walked from church, chopped off 2 bridesmaids, and 3 groomsmen, and culled our guestlist. We're people who do not tolerate racism or discrimination of any sort, and unfortunately, the church I was at just couldn't get on board with this – their loss!

As we've changed our reception venue a gazillion times, we've found ourselves standing out within the vacant space of – exactly what does marriage mean to us?

As my dress is constantly on the gathered dust, and also the voices of relatives and old friends quieten within our minds, we've arrived at realizing what we should have planned would have been our wedding nightmare!

One ongoing pandemic later, we're still crafting our dream day. But we currently stand firm around the most crucial detail: our fun-loving, ambitious, and adventure-seeking selves!

Okay so, who on the planet am I?

That's a loaded question, but here's a little bit of info that will help you figure that out!

How old are you currently and how old is your fiance?

I'm twenty-fine (25) and my fiance Sam is 27.

What is the next step?

I'm a Web Developer who builds websites and web apps as a living, but bakes and cooks just for fun. Sam is a Web Developer too, having a Ph.D. in Structural Biology, and plays rugby. Yes, he is a brainbox.

Where do you live?

The town of Norwich in Norfolk. I was raised in Essex around the border of London and went to live in Norwich for university in 2013. Sam was created in Boston but has lived in some places (including Scotland), then Norwich because of his father being within the RAF.

How have you met?

We met inside a church that people both skedaddled from. I used to sing within the band, and Sam played guitar. However, we simply started talking when there is a need for a brand new website. Sam was finishing his Ph.D. and wanted to obtain back into Web Development.

One 'googly-eyed' coffee date later, 2 pints in a pub, I flat out asked Sam –

"Do you fancy me or something like that?"

Sam bluntly replied – "Yeah – do you want to obtain married?"

To which I said, "Yeah.

He followed by using "We'll observe how it goes then".

And the remainder is history!

How did the proposal happen?

Despite how straightforward I was, the proposal didn’t happen until after around annually of us being together. Sam had booked a spa day for us as a treat. I was nervous once we had discussed getting engaged and I was sure it had been going to happen every day! After the spa, Sam had planned that I can pick my favorite restaurant to visit, but rather I insisted on obtaining a meal deal from Sainsbury's (prawn mayo sandwich, beef hula hoops along with a cherry Pepsi max). I had wanted to obtain home to place my hair in rollers to ensure that by the evening or even the next day my hair would look bouncy and gorgeous for my anticipated proposal.

Instead, upon arrival in your own home, he got a buddy to fill the family room with balloons, place a bouquet of sunflowers (my favorite flower), and decking of cards titled '10 explanations why I can't wait to marry you, along with gorgeous gold, emerald, and band, propped up in the box. He had managed to obtain our Google Home to play my favorite song ever as I entered the area, 'Kiss me – Sixpence None the Richer'. I sat down around the sofa shakily studying the deck of cards because he read them to me, after which got recorded on one knee and inquired about marrying him. I replied "yeah".

What is the vision for the wedding and has this vision changed in light of COVID19?

Our vision would be to craft a day that people truly enjoy. Good food, individuals who we wish to speak to around the day, and encompassed by our family. Our initial wedding plans were only a hodge-podge of individuals who we'd invited from obligation, and seeking to pack in all of the things we thought we ought to do – which was only a whole pile of rubbish.

Have you chosen your dress yet?

I have chosen my dress! It is going to possess some custom elements put into it to make it even more special. The dress base was purchased from a supplier in London who crafted the gown my grandmother was laid to relax in. Up until your day the only individuals to see my wedding gown will be my mother, a seamstress, and myself.

Last movie you watched?

The Disney Pixar film 'Soul'. I'd massively recommend everyone to look at it for those who have Disney Plus! It's heartfelt and thought-provoking.
