1. Turtuk Waterfall

If you're looking for heavenly beauty on Earth it is here in Turtuk Waterfall. Located at a distance of 205 Kms from Leh, Turtuk waterfall offers you its serene beauty. It is a very beautiful Fall with a wooden bridge built over it. You can walk over the bridge and roam around in the nearby village. It offers you a chance to see the local culture and interact with the locals. Overall it is a wholesome experience for which you can visit the Turtuk Waterfall.

2. Thang

Turtuk is the northernmost village in India and there you can find a small village called Thang near the Line of Control. It wasn't possible to visit Thang and other places located near the LOC but the permission for tourists to travel to these places was given in April 2018. Visiting such a place would definitely add to your experiences of travelling, as well it's good to explore this location now when you have the permission to.

3. Balti Heritage House & Museum

If you've read our other blog on Turtuk, you must be aware of the culture and people of Turtuk. For the people who did not, the people of Turtuk speak Balti language which is a mix of Persian and Old Tibetan. It is a language and culture on the verge of extinction in India, as there are only a handful of people speaking the language. In this scenario visiting the Balti Heritage House & Museum which was once a royal Yabkoo dynasty castle and now turned into a museum is something you should definitely do. This museum is maintained by the successor of the royal family so here you can chat with the royalty himself. Not something you get to do every day, isn't it?

There are many more places that you can visit in Turtuk and many more activities that you can try doing while you're there. So, the time is now when you should double check if Turtuk is on your Leh Ladakh tour package or not. If not please get it added. So we're ending this blog here but we'll be back with another Turtuk blog to keep you updated on the things that you should be doing in Turtuk.

Until then, good luck and happy travelling!
