While Crocs are lightweight, durability is not the same. They can be damaged on rocky terrain and in dense brush, and you may not want to use them for a full thru-hike. Additionally, they can be damaged by water and slip easily when wet. This is a deal-breaker for some people.
While
maroon Crocs have a low-profile, breathable design, and adequate arch support, they're not suited for serious hiking. They are also not particularly stable on rough terrain, and gravel can easily get inside. They're also not equipped to protect your feet from thistles or other brittle bushes.
