Using these makeup tips will make your life a hundred times easier

Whether you're a seasoned makeup factory artist or a complete novice, you can always benefit from a few makeup pointers. Consider the following example: why struggle with your cat eye or contour when there are so many simple hacks that can make the process 100 times more smooth? I went ahead and compiled a list of the 21 best makeup tips and tricks of all time, including how to properly apply concealer (and where to apply it), how to finally perfect your winged eyeliner (spoiler alert: it involves a spoon), and a whole bunch more. As a result, grab your Wholesale makeup bag and that one product (err, products?) you've been meaning to learn how to use, and continue reading.

1. Apply your foundation first, followed by your concealer.

Hot tip: If you're looking for a way to save money, look no further than a coupon code. The quickest and most straightforward way to improve your Makeup Private Label routine is to try applying your foundation first, followed by your concealer. Consider the following:Starting with a layer of foundation will help to minimize any redness or discoloration, almost as if you're laying down a smooth foundation for the rest of your products to sit on top of it. It will be much easier to spot treat any zits or redness that remains after that, and you will end up using much less product in the process. What's another plus? The application of foundation before concealer is a brilliant solution for preventing caking and creasing.

Spoolie brushes are excellent for maintaining eyebrow shape.

On busy days when I don't have time to fill in my brows, I like to do the next best thing: quickly comb up my arches with a spoolie brush (also known as those little mascara wands) to give them a more defined look. Even when I have time for powders, gels, and pencils, I still like to prep my brows with a spoolie—it takes no more than 10 seconds and is a quick and easy way to ensure that each of my brow hairs is in the proper position before applying my makeup. Tips from the pros on how to look good in your makeup:Alternatively, you can purchase spoolie brushes in bulk for a very low price (I recommend the Cuttte Disposable Mascara Brushes) or invest in a reusable brush (I recommend Uoma Beauty's Brow-Fro Baby Hair, which also includes a precision pencil on one end).

3. Before applying lipstick, exfoliate your lips with a soft toothbrush.

All right, you've probably experienced this: you apply lipstick and it doesn't go on smoothly. Prepare your lips with a gentle lip scrub (I recommend the Beauty Bakerie Sugar Lip Scrub or the KNC Beauty Lip Scrub) — the physical exfoliation will help buff away any dry skin that has accumulated on top of your lips, resulting in an easier-to-apply canvas for your products. One thing to keep in mind: Lip scrubs should only be used once or twice a week at the most; any more than that and you run the risk of causing irritation (which is the polar opposite of what you're going for).

4. Don't overlook the importance of blush.

Although it appears to be an obvious step in your makeup routine, blush is, in my opinion, the most underappreciated product. A few light sweeps of cream or powder blush along the high points of your cheeks will instantly transform your entire look into something brighter and warmer."I use blush on all of my clients because it gives the skin that fresh and rejuvenated look and it adds the perfect amount of depth to the face," makeup artist Lakeisha Dale told Cosmopolitan. "It gives the skin that fresh and rejuvenated look and it adds the perfect amount of depth to the face."Not that you have to choose a bright-pink blush or anything like that; instead, opt for something soft and glowy like one of the options below instead.

5. Melt your pencil liner to make it glide more easily.

Creamy makeup products blend better when they've been warmed up, which is a proven fact. For example, if your kohl eyeliner pencil skips or tugs on your eyelids, or if it takes several coats to achieve a decent color payoff, melt it down slightly before you begin lining your eyes. To do so, hold the tip of your kohl liner under the flame of a lighter for a second or until it becomes tacky, then allow it to cool slightly (swatch it on your hand to ensure it is not too hot or melted), then watch the consistency of your kohl liner change right in front of your very eyes.

6. Use white eyeliner to draw attention to your eyeshadow.

For the best results when applying a sheer or less pigmented eyeshadow, first apply a white eyeliner pencil all over your eyelid to make it more vibrant. After that, apply your eyeshadow directly on top. The opaque coverage of the white liner will bring out the intensity of any eyeshadow shade and make it stand out more prominently.

7. Draw the outline of your cat eye.

If you're having trouble perfecting your winged eyeliner look (and, hello, I'm having the same problem, I understand), try drawing the outline of the shape first and then filling it in. Make a line that extends beyond your lower lash line to create the bottom of your cat-eye look first. Once you've decided on the thickness you want for your wing, draw a top line from the end point of your flick to your upper lash line, tracing it over your brow bone. Once you have the shape drawn out on both sides and everything appears to be symmetrical, you can begin filling in the blanks.

8. Create a winged liner with a spoon as a stencil.

If freehand drawing your cat eye isn't going to work for you, grab a spoon and use it as a stencil instead. As the first step in creating your cat eye, place the stem of a spoon against the outer corner of your eye and use a liquid eyeliner to draw a straight line across the outside of your eye. To create a perfectly curved winged effect, flip the spoon so that it is hugging your upper eyelid and use the rounded outer edge to create a perfectly curved winged effect.
