If engineers learn new technologies related to HP, they can become SAN support engineers or cloud support engineers or try their hand at technologies, such as DevOps.

Job opportunities for computer and network systems administrators are expected to increase six percent during the period 2016-2026, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). Their requirement will, in fact, grow as organizations increasingly invest in emerging technology networks that are faster.

Educational Qualifications and Other Requirements

To become HP Field Support Engineers, candidates need to have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent along with up to two years’ experience in this field.

If engineers have experience in HP Server/Storage technology, besides knowledge of Cisco UCS, Network+, VMware, VCP, Server+, HP-AIS, etc., they would be preferred. They should have a certification in CCNP or its equivalent.

They should be conversant with Cisco wireless networks, routing and switching, B2 and IPSEC tunnel configuration, Cisco ASA firewalls and VPN devices of clients, and protocols, such as DHCP, WINS, and DNS.
