Path of Exile smashes its player count record following free Betrayal update

Path of Exile's free Betrayal expansion, which enables you to play as being a detective (of sorts), has clearly struck a chord with players: shortly after it launched yesterday, the ARPG smashed its concurrent player record, at its peak, 117,000 everyone was logged in Path of Exile Currency at the identical time on Steam alone.

It was the initial time the sport passed 100,000 concurrent players on Steam, in line with Steam Charts, and was a lot more than double its highest player count inside the three months prior.

Judging by what lead developer Chris Wilson has stated previously about the volume of players that go with the POE Currency 's standalone client instead, the overall player count was probably more detailed 200,000 (on account of Reddit user Vindexus for pointing that out).
