I can't belive this game is in Steam! My first hack and slash game of my childhood
Good story, gore combat, finishers, weapon upgrades, variety of enemies, etc
And not only that, they added trading cards and achievements so it's more enjoyable

The negative thing is that mouse players are fu*ked. There is no support for mouse. It seems like the company who decided to re-launch this old title (Acclaim entertainment was the original developer) is forcing you to buy a controller lol. I remember playing this game back in 2003 with mouse without problems

8\/10. I played the hell out of this game when it was first released, so it was nice to find it again on Steam -- and at a discount. It looks like the game has been updated to work better with modern systems, so it looks great at 1920x1080 and runs smoothly on my archaic gaming laptop. It's your basic hack-and-slash set in ancient Rome. I've been playing it with my Xbox 360 wireless controller, and it controls well. The only slight critcism is not knowing which button presses go along with on-screen prompts, but it's not too hard to figure out. For the price, you're getting a great game that plays well in 2018.. A very fun, simple game. The boss battles could have been a bit more imaginative, and they can be frustrating at times (you'll see when you play). Minor issue with high screen resolution, giving me a black bar across the upper part of the screen, but never missed anything important.

In simple terms this game is a janked up GoW. Now that is understandable because this came out a few years before Santa Monica Studios came out with the first God of War game. Give this game a shot if you would like to know how a drunk Kratos would fight.

*5 achievements are broken for the Steam version of this game and it looks like they will never be fixed. Avoid this game if that bothers you.*
