17 steps to get a high PTE reading score

#1: The quality of the PTE questions is very important. Therefore, find a tutor to get high quality PTE test questions for your preparation. #2: Do not attempt all questions in one go. 17 steps to get a high PTE reading score

#1: The quality of the PTE questions is very important. Therefore, find a tutor to get high quality PTE test questions for your preparation.
#2: Do not attempt all questions in one go. Give yourself adequate time between each section, 2-3 minutes at least. This will allow you to consider the question properly. For example, if you are struggling with vocabulary or grammar then take time out to learn these language skills before moving on to the next section.
#3: Improve your reading speed because most students spend too long on this part of the exam and it's easy to miss key words that may help you answer the question correctly. When practicing try setting a timer and read as quickly as possible, but not at the expense of accuracy.
#4: Improve your concentration by visualising yourself doing well in the exam - this way you will be less likely to make silly errors because you are under pressure. It is normal to feel nervous, especially if it's a higher level paper, but try to build a positive mindset and stay calm throughout the test.
#5: Do not spend too long on one question. There's no point re-reading a question three times and still not understanding what they're asking. Try and get an overview of the question first before looking for key words that may help you understand what they require from you.
#6: If there is more than one correct answer then state all of them, even if you only feel confident answering one of them. Don't leave the paper without an answer just because you don't know it.
#7: If there is more than one question that requires similar answers then do not copy and paste your response for both questions. Think of a unique answer for each question instead of re-using past work. You can use similar words but altering them to fit the context of individual questions.
#8: Never give up! If you are unsure about something, write down your thoughts and move on to another part of the test before coming back to it later once you understand what they want from you better. Also, never underestimate yourself - sometimes silly mistakes happen when rushing through an exam but that is the exception and not the rule. Most of the time, a little bit of extra effort on a question can give you a much better score than if you'd just moved on!
#9: Ask questions when in doubt. If after reading this article or some other source related to standardized testing you still have doubts, feel free to ask your teacher or tutor about them so they can clarify things for you. Also, use common sense - if something seems strange then it probably is so don't ignore your gut feeling!
#10: Remember that even though exams are important they do not define who you are as a person and/or student. You will likely take more tests in your lifetime and these scores will never be the only thing that people ever see about you.
#11: Prepare for all types of questions, not just the ones on your test.
For example, you might have to write an essay in your social studies class so if this isn't already something you are comfortable with then go ahead and take some time now to practice writing short essays so they will be a piece of cake by testing time.
#12: Be confident! You got this!
#13: Relax. Don't stress yourself out; instead use all that nervous energy to focus on doing your best rather than stressing about what might not even end up being on the test. If it does show up then great but if it doesn't don't let it ruin your day or your time preparing for it.
#14: Make sure you eat a good breakfast and don't do anything to hyped up before the test. You want to be calm and collected when taking it so all that energy doesn't go to waste and impact your score negatively.
#15: Answer every single question! Even if you're not 100% confident in what you've written down, make sure you write something because there is no penalty for guessing on the ACT. It's better than leaving some answers blank!
#16: Don't panic if your essay isn't as long as expected or if you run out of time before getting to answer everything; scoring is based more on quality than quantity.
#17: If you finish early then take this time to go back through your work and double-check it!
If you found this helpful, please share it with someone else who may be taking the ACT soon – whether that's a friend, family member, or complete stranger. It would mean a lot to me and I'm sure other students around the world would appreciate it as well!
Also if you have any more tips that helped you out on the exam then comment them down below along with what score you got. I'd love to hear from those of you who took the ACT already and see how many people benefited from this article.
Thank You for reading! And good luck on your future exams!
