Set goals. Whatever exercise you choose to pursue, set weekly goals and track your progress. You may set any goal appropriate for your fitness level, but the key is to persistently follow through on your plan. Record your daily workouts on a chart or keep a simple tally indicating that you completed the exercises you had planned to do.

Practice the "invisible chair" exercise to strengthen up your legs. First, you need an unobstructed wall that is at least the width of your body. Be at least eighteen inches facing away from the wall. As you sit down against the wall, your back needs to be flat, and your upper legs should be in a horizontal position. Bend your knees, and continue to lower yourself until you are almost sitting, with thighs parallel with the ground. Hold this seated position until you can't any longer.

For sleeker looking arms, try exercises designed to improve your posture. Most posture exercises work all the major muscles in the arm, allowing them to be strengthened and toned. Try extending your arms until they're at shoulder height, with your elbows bent and palms up. Hold this position for at least 5 seconds, then release and repeat. Performing this exercise at least 3 times weekly should have you standing straighter and leave your arms looking great.

Going to a commercial rock climbing wall can be a good way to get out of the house and have fun while still improving physical fitness. The climbing of the rock wall will work out the entire body and also stimulate the mind as one looks for a path to climb.

Work your hamstrings in order to make your sprint faster. Your hamstring muscles help your speed and are used to push off. Leg curl is a great exercise to get strong hamstrings, but instead of releasing this exercise quickly, release slowly which will work your hamstrings more. Strong hamstrings equal a faster sprint.

If you enjoy watching television, try adding a little workout to your TV watching. Watching TV while working out may help you forget that you are working out, which will increase the length of your workout. Try using television shows as a timer. If you know that a show runs for half an hour, tell yourself that you will work out for two shows.

A great fitness tip is to start doing the bench press. Bench pressing is the best exercise you can do if you want to build your pectoral muscles. You'll want to grab the bar at about shoulder width, and then bring the bar down to your chest. You'll want to remember to breathe also.

Exercising with a weight belt on is not as helpful as commonly thought. While you may think that you are increasing your strength by wearing a weight belt, you are actually doing just the opposite. It's been found that consistently wearing weight belts while exercising actually weakens your lower-back and abdominal muscles.
