Hymn 91 is a song of assurance and redemption. The psalmist starts by announcing that God is his asylum and fort, and he won't fear how man can treat him. He proceeds to say that God will shield him from the insidious one and from the lethal disease. He will be protected from the bolts of the insidious and from the fear of the evening.
