10 Things Revealed in Spider-Man: No Way Hom

Warning: This article contains spoilers for the Spider-Man: No Way Home! You've been warned! Spider-Man: No Way Home is the conclusion to the Homecoming trilogy in Marvel: Cinematic Universe (MCU). This film goes like a roller coaster. And, despite being hit by a lot of spoilers and leaks, this has no effect on the fun while watching the film in theaters. Set right after Spider-Man: Far From Home, No Way Home follows Peter Parker (Tom Holland) who enlists the help of Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to erase people's memories of his identity as Spider-Man. However, the spell went awry. The multiverse cracks and Peter must face the consequences. What is revealed from this film? Here's the review!

1. The Return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man
This is the “surprise” that fans have been waiting for. Rumors previously circulated that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield were scheduled to appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home to help Tom Holland's version of Peter Parker take on the villains from their world. Many leaks circulated before No Way Home was released. And, the leak was not wrong.

2. Wong is the Great Wizard, not Doctor Strange
In No Way Home, Doctor Strange confirms to Peter that he is no longer the Great Wizard. Wong has claimed the nickname over "technical". This is because Doctor Strange was one of the victims of Thanos' snap in Avengers; Infinity War. After 5 years of “disappearance”, Wong finally stepped forward to fill the vacant position.

3. Spider-Man locks Doctor Strange in the Mirror Dimension
Doctor Strange and Peter Parker get into a dispute over what to do with the criminals from another dimension they have captured. Peter is reluctant to send them to their respective worlds because they will be killed. Strange didn't like that.

4. Matt Murdock provides legal counseling to Peter Parker.
The first act of Spider-Man: No Way Home immediately made a scene in theaters after Charlie Cox appeared as Matt Murdock. He was last seen as Matt in the series Daredevil season 3. His appearance in No Way Home also confirmed speculation that he was the one who became Peter's lawyer when he was arrested by the police.

5. Ned can cast spells with Doctor Strange's ring
Peter's best friend, Ned, claims his family has magic while chatting with Doctor Strange. The mage certainly didn't believe it. However, Ned later wears Strange's ring which Spider-Man stole. He can then perform magic and open a number of portals. Two of them brought Tobey and Andrew's version of Spider-Man to the MCU.

6. Aunt May was killed by the Green Goblin
Tom Holland's Peter Parker faces tragedy in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Aunt May was killed by a Green Goblin who hit her with a glider. May's last words before she breathed her last were: With great power comes great responsibility. In the two Spider-Man franchises before the MCU, those words were spoken by Uncle Ben. In the MCU, Aunt May's death finally makes Peter think about his responsibilities as a superhero and what it means to save people. These successively provide a new kind of origin story for Spider-Man.

7. Venom Cameo
Eddie Brock appears in the middle credits of Spider-Man: No Way Home. It was revealed that Eddie was on vacation in Mexico. This Eddie and Venom vacation story was previously seen in the post-credits scene of Venom: Let There Be Carnage. In Spider-Man: No Way Home, a barmaid explains everything about Thanos and snaps his fingers. Venom was confused. However, after Strange cast the spell, they returned to their world. However, Venom left a souvenir for the MCU, namely a drop of his symbiote on the bar table.

8. Electro mentions the whereabouts of Miles Morales
While Electro was healed, he chatted briefly with Andrew's version of Spider-Man. During the chat, he said he was shocked to see Peter was young and thought he was black because he helped the poor. He said that black Spider-Man must exist. This moment alludes to the existence of Miles Morales, who is of Afro-Latino descent. He is the main character in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. While not appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Electro's comments could indicate the introduction of Miles Morales' version of Spider-Man in the MCU.

9. Doctor Strange erased Peter Parker from everyone's memory
The spell Doctor Strange cast in Spider-Man: No Way Home is powerful. With the multiverse in danger of breaking apart, with everyone who knows Peter's identity at hand, the only way to save and restore balance to the multiverse in the MCU is to erase all memories of Peter from everyone, including MJ and Ned. It meant that no one would remember Peter at all and it was as if he never existed to anyone who had ever known him. Peter finally asks Doctor Strange to erase everyone's memories of him. While Peter and Spider-Man can now perform together without the mess, this is after Peter lost his Aunt May.

10. Peter Parker heals all Spider-Man villains
Once criminals started pouring into the portal and Spider-Man found out that most of them were dead, he promised to heal them before sending them back to their world. He hoped the criminals could get a second chance without the effects of their genetic changes. At the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the three Peter Parkers work together to heal these villains. This forever changes the ending of their stories in their respective universes.
