12 Do's and Don'ts for a Successful Eyeshadow Boxes

Are you planning on decorating your home with a theme? Thinking up a theme would depend on your likes and dislikes, your interests, etc. Your eye for choosing the furniture, accessories or rugs that match the theme, too, is equally important. Once you have that in mind and know where to place what, the rest will fall in place before you know it.

Whatever the style, it is necessary to get style support from accessories placed in the room, like tables, shelves, lampshades, cushions, area rugs, portraits, etc. that match with the theme.

There are various themes you can choose from like country, contemporary, rustic, your own mix of styles, a theme that focuses on a family member's career, hobby or collections. Whatever the theme, a visit to your local home improvement center, furniture outlet and also surfing on the internet would yield you some positive results and better your knowledge about your theme.

Country: If you have decided to have the country setting for your house, your furniture would include pinewood or oak, giving it a more rustic look. The color of the walls could be in pastel shades with antique looking pine wood, cushioned sofas, wall units should look more like 'shadow boxes' or shelves to put up display items like trophies, artifacts (metal would look lovely), small beautifully carved treasure chests, etc. These shelves could be used in every room including the kitchen where cups, saucers, plates, etc can be displayed.

Contemporary: This style, also known as the modern style, is known for its simplicity in furniture, bare walls and dark and light colors that can be applied to walls, furniture or rugs. Eclectic: This is a mix of any two styles: Asian and contemporary or rustic and cottage, etc. They are colorful and appealing to the eye. Walls over here are brightly painted in red and gold with furniture and fabric matching them in color, fringes and frills are the hallmark of this style. Matching styles can be a little tricky at first, that's where your creativity comes in.

Career, hobby or collection: In this style accessories and artifacts show your interests, hobbies and showcase all your collections. Type of furniture or the rugs used in the rooms is not so important but colors and accessories do like sea corals, blue and white upholstery, shells and other 'sea' collections. If you were working at sea you would naturally think of putting replicas of ships, wheels on the wall, etc.

Whatever your style, give it your best shot and you will see it change before you.

If you were a child of the 80's you should remember the fluorescent striped cycling shorts, the hyper color t-shirts that left marks around your armpits or even the excessive shoulder pads and eye shadow? It was all about the fashion, the television programs and the music.

The program in the 80's included Scooby Doo, Garfield, The Muppet Show, Knight Rider and the A-Team. The most memorable films were of course the Breakfast Club, The Goonies, Ghostbusters and E.T.

The music was an important part of the 80's and growing up listening to Duran Duran, Cyndi Lauper, Ah-Ha. Who can forget Michael Jacksons Thriller; a musical first that secured his position as an icon, Bad was when he was at his best. Madonna was like a virgin and Boy Georges crazy fashion sense seemed perfectly normal as did the size of hair of all the participants of Bon Jovi. Live Aid was a first and was so successful many attempts have been made to do it again. A lot of the one hit wonders seemed to sing about technology and electric.

Roller skating became very popular and everyone seemed to be break dancing wearing sweats and carrying around boom boxes. The Cabbage Patch dolls, the Care Bears and Rainbow Brite were on the scene and all the kids loved riding their BMX's or skateboards to the local arcades.

If you were a teenager during the 80-s you will remember that both men and women had long spiked and bleached hairstyles. Men were either followers of Miami Vice or Rock Legends. There were lots of neon and off the shoulder tops and leg warmers for the women. Even men secretly loved Flash dance. Scrunch socks, leather, gold and miniskirts were also strangely popular. Although you might not have needed to accessorize you outfits fashion followers wore clock necklaces, big hoop earrings, jellies, lacey white socks and rhinestone gloves.

The fashion during the 80's gave us some strange outfits that we swore we would never wear again, but now in the 2009 skinny jeans are back and they don't seem to look as bad as you remembered.

Many of you who grew up during the 80's agree that it was a great time and you are quite glad that the 80's to be back in fashion again. Of course you don't need to bring out the shoulder pads or dust down your white Don Johnson jacket to remember the 80's.

You can get away with showing off that you are a child of the 80's even at work. Retro cufflinks are all the rage can be a great conversation starter. Worn with smart suits or jeans and a French cuff shirt they will be sure to get you noticed.

If you were a fan of the original Nintendo there are retro computer control cufflinks as well as Mario himself. For the more refined there are silver plated Star Wars image cufflinks. There are even Rubix Cube cufflinks as well as Pac Man and Space Invader designs. Additionally you could wear some Lego or Transformer cufflinks.
