Sudan (October 28, 2021) – CTC Group was established with a vision to develop not just a growing business but an enterprise that benefits the people of Sudan by providing them with products and services that enhance the quality of life across various sectors. The Group quickly grew to become the leading private sector company in the agricultural sector living to its ambitions and purpose of making a difference in people’s lives. However, it operated very much under a classic family business structure.
That soon changed as Mr. Ahmed Amin joined the Group, the first amongst second generation of ownership that entered the business, and over his tenure that now extends over 25 years much has changed. The Group started to diversify its portfolio entering into new sectors such as automotive, consumer electronics, real estate, construction, telecom and ICT as Sudan’s economy was benefitting from the oil boom impacting investment and consumer expenditure.
It was particularly during the past 15 years, and as Group President, that Ahmed Amin Abdellatif started to lay the foundation of transforming the Group from a classic family business with less than 50 employees into one of the leading multi-sector corporates in East Africa. Today, the Group employs over 1,500 full-time employees.
As an equal and inclusive employer of choice, Mr. Ahmed prioritised the development of Sudanese human capital, running apprenticeship and graduate programs to give vocational training and university graduates the opportunity to build successful careers.
