A quick guide on understanding IP Phone Systems

You must have noticed cordless and hard-wired telephones in the workplace. You must have wondered who would use such outdated technology. But the reality is quite different. IP phones are not your regular cord phones, even though they might look and sound the same way. These telephones use the power of the internet to be function and are usually found in offices. These phones can also be recognized as desk phones, office phones or conference phones.

IP phones and how do they work?

IP is short for Internet protocol or also known as Voice Over Internet Protocol or VOIP. These phones are connected to the internet and the Wi-Fi connection. They function and communicate through the internet. It can be done if you have a stable Wi-Fi connection or an Ethernet cable. Therefore, we have established source and a modem of communication. The question remains, how do they work?

These IP phone systems are connected to the Wi-Fi or the internet based on analogue voice signals. That means that when someone calls, the system will change the caller's voice into digital signals. This communication concept is the same as MP3 players how they convert the sound signals into digital signals and move around the internet. Similarly, IP phones do the same thing but for callers. They convert the voice into digital signals, send them to where they are required and then back to you in the same way.

Difference between landline and IP phone

If you have seen a VoIP phone, you must have noticed the uncanny similarities between landline and IP. But if you have not seen an IP phone system, there is a good chance that you did not recognize it. But they are completely different in function, although an average person won't get it as it fulfils the basic need. Since they will not understand the difference unless pointed out to them, here are some mentioned below:

The key difference is the transmission through which the phones connect two people. While landlines rely on telecommunications, IP phones rely on Wi-Fi.

With IP phones, you can transmit your words into digital mode. In landlines, you have to talk.

While telephones may charge extra for off-shore calls, that is not the case with IP phones. They are connected via the Wi-Fi and thus is using the data that you are already paying for.

Moreover, how the internet does not charge extra when you are connected to people on social media. The same idea applies here.

Why should you opt for IP phones with Yabbit?

One of the best reasons people have started to opt for IP phones is their ability to transmit digital signals. But not only that, it comes with some features that you will not get on the landline anymore. For example, while it connects a small area under LAN, landlines are devoid of hold buttons and transfer buttons with a good interface.

Moreover, they are rather cheap because they eliminate the need for copper wires around the office. Additionally, unlike landlines, you can make as many simultaneous calls; you just have them keep them on hold. If you are looking to change your communication methods, you should rely on credible companies like Yabbit and Yapp all day.
