Somebody once wrote me, asking, “There are certainly a large amount of teachers and students of A Course in Miracles on the market, but there must be something that you've hooked into, or caught onto? A thing that triggered a transformation or even a major healing. So, that which was it?”



“Trust,” I said.



Think about your life as it is apparently these days with regards to the story. How can we answer the question; “Who do I trust? Where do I think my safety lies? How will I be sustained? Who's my source?” So whenever we discuss the past stage to the awakening being pure trust, it's simply about disengaging and withdrawing our faith and trust in all of these made-up concepts, beliefs and ideas in the world. It's similar to building a big house of cards, stacking using one card after the other. A good wind occurs and poof, it's only blown over. It can't even stand only a little gust of wind. It's so frail. It's so temporary. acim authors It's so transitory; It absolutely was this sense of placing trust in the Spirit and withdrawing trust in everything else; dozens of things that were identified and learned as worldly accomplishments. Why should we trust in those? Have they ever brought us lasting peace and happiness? Are they really trustworthy?It surely comes right down to the essence of who is my buddy? Is it Spirit or matter? Is it Spirit or form? Furthermore how most of us have tried trusting people? Has anybody tried any particular one?So you are asking the question, “If someone dies or is apparently dying of starvation, what does that say about their mind?” Where this is heading is to the awareness that everything is mental. What this awakening can tell you is that everything is mental and that everything is a hallucination. That is an environment of ideas and what we call manifest reality, isn't reality at all. There's no distinction between thought and form. Jesus has to create his whole workbook in A Course In Miracles on making the text between thought and form. His lessons start with, “Nothing I see means anything,” (W-1) and, “I have given everything I see all this is it has for me.” (W-2) Then, He works his way around number 4, “These thoughts don't mean anything&rdquo ;.Now, He's speaking about thoughts. First He's speaking about perception, then about our thoughts, then He comes home with lessons 5,6,7,8,9 ... perception, perception, perception, perception, perception ... and then number 10, “My thoughts don't mean anything.” You will see he's wanting to melt everything together and show the past veil or stage of awakening, which is trust.

 

The Holy Spirit uses time to teach us there is no such thing as time, to take us back to that particular timeless moment that is the gateway to eternity. He uses symbols to show us that they're all illusions and that they're all equally meaningless. That's exactly the method of operation of Holy Spirit. The Spirit has to work well with your brain to loosen the attachments from the investment in a myriad of things. What kind of things do you purchase, these days?
