South Korea qualified for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after a 2-0 win over Syria in the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers at Rashid Stadium, Tuesday (1/2).
South Korea is the 14th country to advance to the 2022 World Cup finals, outside of Qatar as the host.

The victory over Syria made the Taegeuk Warriors the second representative from Asia to this year's World Cup after Iran.

The full points that Paulo Bento's team got over Syria on matchday eight were achieved thanks to goals from Kim Jin Su (51') after using Kim Tae Hwan's assist and Kwon Chang Hoon's goal (71') after receiving Lee Jae Sung's pass.

In that match, South Korea dominated the game over Syria. However, Syria's solid defense made Paik Seung Ho and his friends struggle to score goals.

In another match, Japan prevented Saudi Arabia from qualifying for the 2022 World Cup on matchday eight.

Playing at Saitama Stadium, Japan won 2-0 over Saudi Arabia through goals from Takumi Minamino (32') and Junya Ito (50').

Three points won over Saudi Arabia made Japan collect 18 points. The Blue Samurai are now only one point away from Saudi Arabia, who top the Group B standings.

With the addition of South Korea, now 15 teams have confirmed qualification for the 2022 World Cup, including hosts Qatar.
