Cinnamon Leaf oil is extracted from the leaves of the True Cinnamon tree Cinnamomumzeylanicum, also known as Cinnamomumvervun. The oil is different from Cinnamon Bark essential oil which comes from the same tree. Cinnamon Leaf Essential Oil has a lighter colour and a different balance of its constituents, with at least 80% phenols. It has an exotic, spicy and musky scent that blends particularly well with citrus scents. Cinnamon has a long history of being used in traditional medicine, with the ancient Egyptians, and Chinese cultures said to have given it a higher value than gold. It continued used in herbal remedies throughout history and today is valued in aromatherapy and homeopathy for its antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, as well as being warming, stimulating and energising.
Ciiinamon leaf oil is said to relieve stress, and support brain function and focus. Why not add a few drops of Cinnamon Leaf essential oil to a diffuser to get your day off to an energised and refreshed start?
