Coal Fired Power Generation Market Size, Share

Coal is the oldest and most cost-effective source of energy, with a large supply. Coal-generated electricity meets nearly half of global electricity demand. Although it is a very cost-effective energy source, it is also a major environmental polluter. As a result, the market for coal-fired power generation is expected to decline until clean coal technologies aimed at reducing environmental impact are developed. Many countries are currently investing heavily in the deployment of more efficient supercritical and ultra-supercritical Coal-Fired Power Generation technologies.
The increasing demand for energy as a result of rapid industrialization and the increasing reliance on electrification around the world is one of the key factors driving the market growth. However, coal-fired power plants emit massive amounts of polluting gases such as carbon dioxide (CO2), sulfur dioxide (SO2), and nitrogen oxides (NOx).
Solid fuel is supplied from a bunker into a pulverizing mill, and the pulverized fuel is pneumatically conveyed to the furnace by splitting a larger fuel pipe into smaller ones through bifurcations and/or trifurcations in electrical power generation. A matrix of burners on a wall-fired or tangentially fired furnace is fed by the fuel distribution network.
